The new graduate-soldiers go on their first mission against the notorious rebel leader Abdul Waajid (Sid Lucero). Alex (Gerald Anderson) maximizes his IT expertise to track the terror group’s location, leading them to Governor Gezalis (Richard Quan)’s mansion. Still through Alex, the army gets a clear shot of the target but still, a distraction unfortunately spoils their success. More so, Abdul Waajid uses Isabel (Charlie Dizon), daughter of Gov. Gezali, as a hostage. Although the main leader remains on the loose, a number of rebels were killed in the encounter; while Gov. Gezali and Isabel are rushed in the hospital.
Isabel wakes up in the hospital and starts to look for her father. Michael (Nash Aguas) relieves her worries, saying Governor Gezali is already on a stable condition. Isabel recognizes Michael as the soldier who marred her temper at the checkpoint area.
The next morning, Michael hesitates to bid Isabel goodbye as he’s about to be posted at the checkpoint area again. He’s scared to annoy her again. But to his delight, Isabel is surprisingly friendly and is vocal about her gratitude towards him. Michael wishes for Isabel’s full recovery and leaves the hospital with a smile on his face.
While on duty, Michael talks with his worried Nanay over the phone. To soothe her mother’s concern, Michael tells lies about his condition in the camp. He says they always feast on delicious meals and are sleeping on air-conditioned rooms. Abe (Carlo Aquino) and Gorio (Angelo Ilagan) laugh while listening to Michael’s conversation because the truth is they content themselves with cans of sardines for lunch and spend restless nights inside the military truck.
