Jethro (Elmo Magalona) briefs the candidates for the next Scout Rangers Training. Phil (Jerome Ponce), who had no plans of becoming a Scout Ranger, is surprised to know that Jethro recommended him for the program. Meanwhile, Colonel Fontiveros (Nor Domingo) is relieved that Alex (Gerald Anderson) is determined to join the trainings, as Victor (Ariel Rivera) would have opted to slate him in the intelligence unit. Later, Victor thanks Jethro for showing obedience to all his will.
The bunch gears up for the rigorous battle they are about to face. Each one talks with a loved one before leaving the base except Phil. Abe (Carlo Aquino) soothes his fiancée’s sadness while assuring her of pursuing their planned wedding. Isabel (Charlie Dizon) reminds Michael (Nash Aguas) to refrain from looking at other girls. Benjie (Yves Flores) calls his niece and promises to visit her as soon as he graduates. A pair of soldiers makes fun of Michael, saying they expect him to surrender and be back in a week’s time. The playful remark draws laughter from the group.
Alex approaches Lourd (Sue Ramirez) to bid goodbye and make a heartfelt confession. He finally admits his feelings for her. Alex expresses his determination to become an officer, so as not to violate the policy on romantic relationships in the army. Alex says he might not be able to soften Lourd’s heart or change her mind. But he would rather fail trying than do nothing at all. Lourd tears up as soon as Alex turns his back, secretly wishing to see him come back for her.
