At the closing ceremonies of the recent Scout Rangers Training, Elmer (Vin Abrenica) puts proud smiles on his parents’ faces. Minda (Mickey Ferriols) expresses longing for her eldest son and requests him to spend his free time with her at home. The moment is marked with genuine pride and joy until Elmer spots a familiar face among the crowd. It is none other than Grace (Claire Ruiz), his ex-girlfriend. The scene hints at an ugly past between the two. Elmer loathes Grace’s sudden appearance on his graduation day and even Minda is surprised to see her. The unwelcomed woman courteously bids goodbye, saying she just unintentionally passed by the venue.
Later, Elmer goes to Grace’s place and gives her time to explain her side. His words and actions speak volume of disdain, though. As revealed in a flashback scene, Elmer and his family put up a surprise birthday party for Grace three years ago. But in the middle of the celebration, Grace starts to feel sick and uncomfortable. Alex (Gerald Anderson) tries to help her go back to her seat but Elmer misinterprets the caring act displayed in front of him. Afterwards, Elmer proposes to Grace, telling her sweet nothings that all the guests could hear. Yet, instead of bliss and love, guilt is seen on Grace’s eyes. She rejects the marriage proposal and then leaves without further explanation. Confused and embarrassed, Elmer pours his frustrations towards Alex, causing a brawl between them.
Back to Elmer and Grace’s heart-to-heart talk, the latter clears up Alex’s reputation. But she honestly admits having an affair with another guy which prompted her to decline the proposal. Grace uses her loneliness to justify the mistake. Elmer gets mad at Grace’s unreasonable explanation. He walks out of the room without accepting her apology.
