At the Marasigan residence, Elmer (Vin Abrenica) secretly listens to Minda (Mickey Ferriols)’s conversation with Alex (Gerald Anderson) over the phone. Compassion and excitement are heard in Minda’s voice as she checks up on Alex and commends him for the possible promotion and citation. Minda feels proud of Alex for the accolades he’s starting to achieve in less than a year in service. Even Dante (Rommel Padilla) is happy for his son’s achievements. He takes the phone from Minda to catch up with Alex.
Elmer storms inside his room to hide his jealousy. He takes out a piece of paper bearing notice concerning his trainings as a Scout Ranger. Elmer is confident that he is as good as his brother but what hurts him is hearing his parents beam with pride over Alex while they remain clueless of his own achievement.
Meanwhile, at the camp, Alex opts not to tell his parents about his worry over Abdul Waajid (Sid Lucero)’s connections with Dante. He approaches Colonel Fontiveros (Nor Domingo) to insist his wish of becoming part of the intelligence unit, so he could continue probing on Abdul Waajid. His superior scolds him for his stubbornness. Unknown to Alex, Colonel Fontiveros is just helping Dante conceal the truth about his identity.
