Alex (Gerald Anderson) spearheads their batch in the final rehearsals a few hours before the actual graduation ceremony. Almost all of the cadets won’t be seeing their families on that special day. Gorio (Angelo Ilagan)’s parents won’t be present since he is not the top graduate while Phil (Jerome Ponce)’s family are overseas. Parents of the other graduates are not attending due to the hassle in travel.
The scene cuts to Minda (Mickey Ferriols) preparing for the event. She urges Dante (Rommel Padilla) to come with her but he still seems unsupportive of Alex’s dreams. Dante appears decided to tell Minda the truth behind his reluctance but he suddenly pedals back.
At the closing ceremonies, Alex keeps on glancing at the audience hoping to find his father, Dante. Nevertheless, Minda is there and is beaming with pride as she looks at her son. Major Lucente (Mon Confiado) announces the top three graduates – Gorio (Angelo Ilagan) and Abe (Carlo Aquino) bag the third and second spots respectively. Minda is both surprised and delighted upon hearing Alex named as the top student.
The batch celebrates and congratulates one another as the ceremonies come to a close. Minda embraces Alex in a manner full of love and pride. Elmer (Vin Abrenica) watches her mother and sibling share that happy moment together.
Alex mingles with his buddies and is surprised to see Dante standing beside Minda among the crowd.
