The soldiers show glimpse of their hearts following a death-defying test mission against a group of terrorists. Benjie (Yves Flores) patiently waits outside the operating room while Phil (Jerome Ponce) undergoes a medical procedure to treat his gunshot wound. He receives a call from Michael (Nash Aguas), who’s at the checkpoint area, expressing concern for their comrades. Michael assures Benjie that all is going to be well.
By the time Phil is transferred to a private room, Benjie is there to look after him. Benjie is surprised when Phil unintentionally takes his hand amidst a nightmare. The scene cuts to Benjie talking with his niece, Aya, over the phone. The young girl brings up running across Ken in the village, leaving Benjie speechless. When asked if his silence means that he no longer cares about Ken, Benjie fails to give an answer. Instead, he reminisces on the touching moment shared with Phil in the hospital a while ago.
Phil is discharged from the hospital. A trooper approaches him and comments on how lucky he is to have a caring buddy like Benjie who never left his side. Phil agrees and adds that Benjie is a good-hearted man and that he promises to pay his friend’s kindness someday. Benjie smiles upon hearing Phil’s words of appreciation and praises.
