Just as when he lost all sense of hope on his dreams, Michael (Nash Aguas) receives good news from Major Lucente (Mon Confiado) telling him that he is now qualified to join in the military trainings. The recruits undergo lectures and actual texercises on rifle handling and marksmanship.
Major Lucente mentions the importance trust in the armed forces. Elmer (Vin Abrenica) volunteers to execute a trust shooting activity. Taking on a weapon, Elmer positions himself and aims for his target from a long distance – two small bags of water placed on both ends of a twig held by Alex.
Elmer shoots his target well but notes Alex’s obvious anxiety. He approaches Alex in an attempt to mock his nervousness. Alex admits that he indeed felt uneasy not for his safety but for Elmer’s performance. In what seems like knocking at Elmer’s conscience, Alex says he is certain that Elmer would never take advantage of their personal conflict and that Elmer would not dare harm him as a brother. Elmer returns Alex’s salute.
Later, at the barracks, Michael expresses his irk over their arrogant classmates and adds that he wouldn’t mind giving them lessons once he gets pushed to his limits. Alex reminds Michael that soldiers aren’t supposed to react with violence over petty things. Abe (Carlo Aquino) agrees, saying they are all a team and not enemies. Michael commends Abe for his principle and admits that he once had a bad impression about him. Alex tells Michael not to judge a person based on social background.
