Just as when he lost all sense of hope on his dreams, Michael (Nash Aguas) receives good news from Major Lucente (Mon Confiado) telling him that he is now qualified to join in the military trainings. The recruits undergo lectures and actual exercises on rifle handling and marksmanship.
Since a newbie compared to his classmates, Michael is having difficulty in map reading. His buddies, Alex (Gerald Anderson) and Benjie (Yves Flores) help him comprehend the geographic coordinates indicated in a map which is necessary for their next activity.
The next morning, the recruits are divided into several pairs. Their task is to locate the bombs planted at the boot camp, identify the type of explosive, and detonate it if possible. Major Lucente warns the trainees that a single wrong move could possible kill them off to an explosion. They are handed a map that would guide them in ldetecting the explosives. Michael feels relived that he studied map reading the previous night.
As soon as the exercise begins, a device blows up due to some other team’s lapses. Alex is able to detect and identify a 105mm projectile which he tactfully takes for disposal. However, another explosion happens, stirring Alex’s trauma. Alex jitters in fear as the incident reminds him of haunting memories of the attacks he witnessed before. Elmer (Vin Abrenica) is quick to point out Alex’s surprised reaction.
Meanwhile, the army attacks Saal (Sid Lucero)’s hideout but only to find the place empty. Saal has apparently escaped after learning about the military operations beforehand.
