In the previous episode, Alex (Gerald Anderson) sets his foot on the boot camp and other characters were introduced in the story. Major Raul Lucente (Mon Confiado) orders the recruits to introduce themselves and mention their motive for joining the army. Among the candidates are Phil (Jerome Ponce) who wishes to serve his fellowmen and Abe (Carlo Aquino), a Muslim. Alex meets Benjamin (Yves Flores), brother of Olan (Ketchup Eusebio).
Major Raul notes the attendance of Michael (Nash Aguas), hinting that the young man has been trying his luck in the military for quite some time already. Michael admits that he is in dire need of a job to be able to provide for his struggling family. Later, Michael fails in the initial screening once again, casting a shadow on his face for a split second. Major Raul asks Michael if this would be the end of his journey. Michael boldly says that he won’t stop yet and then turns his back.
The vigorous trainings continue, each sequence depicting the hard work it entails before becoming a full-fledged soldier. In the middle of the trainings, Alex receives Elmer (Vin Abrenica)’s warnings about the sufferings he is set to encounter. Alex expresses his determination to win in his new endeavour and to prove himself.
Major Raul says that teamwork and respect hold more importance than physical skills. But this philosophy seems to be neglected when Elmer beats Benjamin upon coming in late during the formation. As the platoon leader, Alex helps his comrade get up but only to get punched, kicked, and mocked by his ‘brother’ as well. Alex sustains his anger even if Elmer is abusing his power. Alex meets Elmer’s glare, the only thing he could do to express his fury.
Later that night, Michael is shown secretly selling snacks to the trainees in order to earn extra money. He talks with his younger sibling over the phone and promises to provide better once he scores a spot in the army. Michael is depicted as a responsible and loving brother. Two recruits poke fun at him and take his items without paying.
The next day, Chino fails in the course due to a foot injury. Alex, Abe, and Benjamin encourage Chino to still pursue his dreams after the three-month recovery period. Chino is sent home, while Michael decides to leave as well to start looking for a stable job instead of just waiting around the camp. Michael humbly takes a small amount of help from Alex.
Major Raul chances upon the group and tells Michael the good news – he qualified in the training program.
