Aside from the nail-biting action that A Soldier’s Heart has been bringing to us every weeknight since it started last January, this series that pays tribute to our valiant soldiers has also touched our hearts with the heartwarming and relatable drama it delivers as well.
A Soldier’s Heart gives us a glimpse of the military life through the characters portrayed by each cast member, who belong to the 4th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army. It highlights the story of Private Alex Marasigan (Gerald Anderson), who’s actually the son of the leader of a Moro rebel group who got killed by his adoptive father – a soldier – during a bloody encounter between the two troops that separated him from his family.
Even though he’s already big that time, he has apparently forgotten about it as Dante (Rommel Padilla) brought him home and told his wife Minda (Mickey Ferriols) and son that they would adopt him. Since then, he did everything to protect him and take him away from anything that would lead him to the truth behind his real identity, as what we can see in the clips included in this Kapamilya Toplist, starting with changing his name from “Hakeem Alhuraji” to “Alexander”.
His comrades Major Raul Lucente (Mon Confiado) and Colonel Virgilio Fontiveros (Nor Domingo), who are also aware of what he did, helped him in concealing the truth not only to Alex, but to the other military officials as well. They’ve been making them believe that they’re able to ambush the whole family of Yosef Alhuraji (Lito Pimentel), to whom their commanding officer then, Brigadier General Victor Mondejar (Ariel Rivera) had wanted to get even with as he blamed him for the death of his family. As he expressed his worry that their secret will later on be revealed, Raul and Virgilio reassured him that they’re indeed all in this together.
As Alex’s biological brother Saal Alhuraji (Sid Lucero), also known by his nom de guerre Abdul Waajid, surfaces and is beginning to show his troop’s power to avenge his father who was killed by the military years ago, will Alex be able to finally find out about his past?
