The Magalonas have some seriously good genes in their family. This is Arkin and in case you haven’t noticed the resemblance, he is the younger brother of Elmo Magalona, who currently stars in the stirring drama A Soldier’s Heart. 

He is all grown up now and is shaping up to be quiet the heartthrob. These photos from his Instagram account show that he has the swag whether suited up or just chill in a plain T. But it is his piercing eyes that has us forgetting our names. So, who is his idol that inspires him every single day? None other than his kuya, of course. 

“Noong bata ko, siya ‘yong lagi kong nakikita. So, parang siya na ‘yong in-idolize ko,” Arkin confessed on Magandang Buhay. He talked about how losing their father at a young age and that at the time, his older brother was the man around him the most. Which is why Kuya Elmo evidently became the person he looked up to. It also helped that they shared interests, “nag-click lang ‘yong pagka-admiration ko sa kanya,” he continued.

Elmo shared his sentiments and said, “Sobrang nakaka-touch actually, for me.” Although, he also revealed that this was not always the case. 

Because Arkin admired his Kuya so much, he decided to copy basically everything his Kuya did. He was seven years old then and wanted the same things. On the other hand, the 12-year old Elmo was annoyed because he felt that he was being mocked. “Parang hindi yata ako siniseryoso ng bata kong kapatid,” he thought. 

Fortunately, as the older Magalona grew up, he realized that he had a bigger role to play in his younger brother’s life, especially after the untimely loss of their father figure. This new bond made him grateful, “Na-realize ko na kasi naa-appreciate niya lahat ng ginagawa ko,” he explained. Without a doubt, the master rapper is proud of who his sons have grown to be.
