However, prior to the said launch, she already scored her acting debut via the 2017 John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo-starrer “Finally Found Someone,” wherein she was credited as April Matienzo – her real name. It was then succeeded by her stints in MayWard’s “Loving In Tandem” and in the family drama film “Seven Sundays.”

She almost became the first-ever Pinay K-Pop idol
Unbeknownst to many, Charlie can only not impress us with her promising acting chops, but with her singing and dancing prowess as well! In fact, she almost became the first-ever Filipino Korean pop idol.
In her guesting in Magandang Buhay in 2018, she recalled joining K-pop competitions during her college years after one of her friends introduced her to the culture. She was bestowed the opportunity to train for a Hallyu girl group after being chosen to become the sole representative of the Philippines. Unfortunately, due to problems they encountered in processing her papers, she failed to push through with that endeavor.
Nonetheless, that experience wasn’t really bad at all she has gained other skills – speaking and singing in Korean language. She also has no reason to be sad about it anymore because her showbiz career here in country has successfully taken off and she has already won an acting award for her compelling performance in the 2020 flick “Fan Girl,” too!
