With her unmistakable beauty and alluring charm, it’s definitely impossible to not notice Sue Ramirez. But in her almost a decade in the local entertainment scene, she has proven that there’s definitely more to her than her mesmeric looks as she never failed to impress us with her performances in every character that she took on in every teleserye project that she did.
As she’s about to introduce to us the fiercer side of her in the upcoming primetime series A Soldier’s Heart, wherein she will be seen as a valiant uniformed officer named Lourd, let’s take a look back on the roles she previously portrayed that truly captured our hearts.
The 23-year-old actress had a truly remarkable debut as she immediately scored the major supporting role of Nicole Mattias in the incarnation of the classic soap opera Mula Sa Puso in 2011. It was succeeded by her minor stint in the JM De Guzman-starrer Angelito: Batang Ama, playing Rona Dimaano, the younger sister of the female protagonist.
A year after, she was able to snag her first-ever lead role via the remake of the popular horror series !Oka Tokat, wherein she portrayed the clairvoyant Luna. She then reprised her role as Rona Dimaano in the sequel Angelito: Ang Bagong Yugto.
In 2013, she became a part of the re-creation of the 80’s hit drama Annaliza as Luisa “Louie” Celerez, and had a special participation as the young Carmen (Ces Quesada) in the comedy drama Dream Dad in 2014.
The year 2015 had been apparently a hectic year for Sue as she appeared in three ABS-CBN teleseryes. First was in the afternoon soap opera Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita, in which she played the young Cecilia Macaraeg (Vina Morales), and was followed by her supporting stint as Kristel Sebastian in All Of Me. She then figured in a love triangle with Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla in the remake of the classic romance drama Pangako Sa ‘Yo as her character, Joy “Ligaya” Miranda, attempted to get into the relationship of the lead couple that really enthralled the viewers.
After a year, she was given the role of Angela Urtola in the primetime series Dolce Amore, the biological sister of the female protagonist played by Liza Soberano.
She’d been busy again in 2017 as she took part in three Kapamilya teleseryes. She fascinated us with her antagonistic chops in My Dear Heart after being tapped to be the young Margaret Divinagracia (Coney Reyes). She then fascinated us with her transformation into a she-wolf named Catleya in the fantasy-action series La Luna Sangre. Arguably, her most notable portrayal that year was Anna Lamoste in the Kapamilya Gold series Hanggang Saan.
Sue also had the chance to be a part of the long-running FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano in 2018 as she guested as Marie Espinosa.
Are you excited as us to see Sue in action in her most challenging teleserye stint to date? Well, you better not miss an episode of A Soldier’s Heart once it begins on January 20 on Primetime Bida.
