Unlike Ana (Julia Montes) and Gael (Paulo Avelino) whose romance went through a lot of obstacles, Samantha “Sam” Del Mundo (Shaina Magdayao) and Alexander “Xander” Guerrero’s (Aljur Abrenica) love story in Asintado just blossomed so fast and smooth. Theirs was unexpected yet surprisingly sweet. They showed us how opposites do attract and more importantly, their romance is proof that you need not search for love, it will come to you naturally.
As we witnessed how their love developed quickly and became so true and genuine, we all learned a lot from them. Here’s what Samantha and Xander’s love story taught us.
Samantha and Xander did not have pretentions. Their story began with them disliking each other, then they became friends and eventually lovers. In their journey, they both saw each other’s flaws and accepted it. Since they were not attracted to each other at first, they did not bother showing their true selves. As such, their love grew knowing who each of them are.
Love Yourself First
You cannot give what you do not have, and Xander taught that to Samantha. Samantha was always insecure and incessantly compared herself to other people. When Xander noticed it, he worked on to boost Samantha’s self-confidence by showering her with encouragement. Samantha learned how to love herself more, so she could love other people as well.
Appreciate What You Have
At the time their friendship was getting deeper, Samantha and Xander appreciated and valued everything they have. Xander did not only help in having Samantha see the beauty in her, he also made her improve as a person. On the other hand, Xander learned from Samantha how important it was to reach out to his family.
Actions speak louder than words. Even though they both did not admit the love they feel for each other, their actions already spoke what they couldn’t say. They took care of each other, showing their love even before they confessed it. And when they finally had that moment of truth, they boldly confessed how they really felt.
Will wedding bells peal for Samantha and Xander? Let’s find out in the thrilling final episodes of Asintado, all this week after It’s Showtime.
