Ana Dimasalang (Julia Montes) and Samantha Del Mundo’s (Shaina Magdayao) journey as sisters is not for the faint of heart. As kids, they were separated, when their paths crossed and did not know they were siblings, they were bitter adversaries and even tried to kill each other numerous times. However, when they eventually found out that they were sisters, they became admirable because of how they fought to attain a peaceful life together. They stood strong and both chose forgiveness and love for each other.
As we get to the end of the inspiring story of these two sisters whom we loved, let’s look back at their journey as sisters on Asintado.
Younger Days as the Ramirez Sisters
Born as Juliana and Katrina Ramirez, they only had a simple life in the province with their beloved parents Robert (Adrian Alandy) and Criselda (Tanya Garcia). As kids they were always there for each other, including fighting bullies who mocked the young Katrina for the big black birthmark on her face. Juliana and Katrina’s simple and peaceful life then was cut short when their parents died as their house was burned down by Salvador del Mundo’s (Nonie Buencamino) men. They were separated at an orphanage, when they were adopted by different families—Katrina going to the wealthy and powerful Del Mundos and Juliana to be reared by the hardworking and loving Dimasalangs.
Growing Up as Ana and Samantha
After being adopted by Hillary Del Mundo (Agot Isidro), Katrina’s name was changed into Samantha. Meanwhile, Juliana was adopted by Vicente Dimasalang (Lito Pimentel), a taxi driver she accidentally met while searching for her sister. Juliana was then called by her adoptive family as Ana. As they grew up, Ana and Samantha led different lives. When their paths crossed by chance, they had new identities so they weren’t able to acknowledge they were actually sisters.
Rivalry Over Gael
Ana and Samantha would then become rivals over one man, Gael Ojeda (Paulo Avelino). They both fell in love and Gael chose Ana, but Samantha who grew up with Gael and loved him for a long time did everything to tear them apart. Because of this, Ana and Samantha hurt each other over and over, and almost killed each other at some point. Due to her love for Gael, Samantha became part of Salvador’s attempt to murder Ana.
Reuniting with Each Other
At the time they finally discovered the truth between them, they had a hard time accepting it since they were mortal enemies. But amid all the hate, both of them eventually chose to forgive and love each other. They both realized the value of being together as the only blood-related family each of them has left.
Fighting Side by Side
As Samantha reunited with Ana, she also helped her sister in taking down her deceitful adoptive father Salvador. Samantha learned the truth about how Salvador murdered their parents, so she worked together with Ana to achieve justice for their parents and to everyone else whom Salvador killed.
