Kapamilya Spotlight: Paulo Avelino’s impressive teleserye streak

Paulo Avelino has emerged as one breakthrough talent who has since made a name for himself in the industry through his own painstaking efforts.

He kicked off his showbiz career when he joined a TV reality talent competition in 2006. Although he failed to win the contest, he still believed in himself and continued pursuing a career in show business. Now, he’s one of the most sought-after leading men in the country.

When he signed an exclusive contract with ABS-CBN in 2011, Paulo immediately went to work with major projects.

His first teleserye as a Kapamilya was 100 Days to Heaven, in which he portrayed Teddy Ledesma, a rich executive who cheated on the main characters. In that same year, he starred in the Christmas special series Ikaw ay Pag-ibig playing the rude and irresponsible Andoy.

The 29-year-old actor had his breakthrough role when he got entangled in a love triangle with Julia Montes and Coco Martin in the remarkable drama Walang Hanggan.

In 2013, he finally got his first-ever lead role in the romantic comedy series Kahit Konting Pagtingin and a major portrayal of a father in the family drama Honesto. He later on joined Bea Alonzo, Albert Martinez, and Maricar Reyes in Sana Bukas ang Kahapon in 2014.

2015 has been a great year for Paulo for he was tapped to star in three TV projects.

He taught us that family is one of the best and most precious gifts we could ever receive through his character Christian in the mini daytime series Give Love on Christmas: The Exchange Gift.

In Bridges of Love, we learnt that genuine love can melt a heart of stone in his team-up with Maja Salvador and Jericho Rosales.

Paulo character as Lea’s (Nadine Lustre) handsome domineering boss with a soft heart Simon in the well-loved primetime series On the Wings of Love highly amused the viewers.

Among the portrayals he did in various projects, his most challenging to date was his stint in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano as the mentally-challenged Eric who sought vengeance against SPO2 Ricardo Dalisay (Coco Martin) after his family got killed by the upright cop.

And last year, Paulo played his biggest, marquee role of an immortal man who was able to live and love the same girl over and over again despite getting killed a number of times in the afternoon drama The Promise of Forever.

Apart from teleseryes, he also appeared in several episodes of Maalaala Mo Kaya and Wansapanataym Presents, with Santi Cruz is Coming to Town in 2016 as his latest.

This 2018, he’s about to capture our hearts once more in his latest teleserye Asintado, opposite Shaina Magdayao, Julia Montes, and reality talent show batchmate Aljur Abrenica, portraying the romantic and obsessed lawyer-model Gael Ojeda.

With these milestone teleserye roles and wide reaching acclaim highlighting his career, Paulo will most certainly take his place as one of the country’s best actors.
