April 2021 is bound to get more intense and more scorching as the 2018 popular Korean series Suits makes its way to local primetime television via Kapamilya Channel this April 5. For sure, some K-drama aficionados have already seen it, but for those who haven’t yet, let us learn more about it via this feature!
Suits probably sounds familiar particularly for those who binge-watch Western series. Well, it’s because this legal drama is based on the long-running, massive hit American TV series of the same name that ran successfully from 2011 to 2019. It is topbilled by Korean superstar Park Hyung-sik, who starred in "The Heirs" and "Hwarang" that were both shown in ABS-CBN, and award-winning actor Jang Dong-gun, who was last seen in the series "Arthdal Chronicles."
Suits follows the individual journeys of a genius and gumptious young man named Michael Go (Park Hyung Sik) and highly esteemed corporate lawyer Harvey Choi (Jang Dong-gun) and how their lives will intertwine.
Taking on odd jobs not just to make both ends meet, but to also pay for the hospitalization of his critically ill grandmother to whom he has a tight bond with, Michael will eventually find himself at the office of Lawyer Choi, who’s looking for an associate after getting promoted as senior partner of the prestigious Kang & Ham Law Firm.
Impressed by his excellent photographic memory and unbelievable intelligence during the interview, Harvey still decided to hire him as rookie lawyer even though Michael does not have a license to practice law or it could even jeopardize his own career. And this is definitely a dream come true for Michael who actually dreams of becoming a lawyer, yet didn’t have the opportunity to pursue his studies due to poverty.
Based on the trailer, they are likely to undergo a series of challenging and tough circumstances as the story progresses, both as individuals and as a tandem. Find out what those are going to be by not missing an episode of Suits, weeknights at 11:10PM on Kapamilya Channel.
