A period drama set in the Joseon dynasty (1392 -1897), it tells the story of the prominent titular matchmaking agency requested by the king to transform his first love, who is a lowly peasant, into a noblewoman as a way of preparing her in becoming the queen once they get married – without leeting her know about it.
Marking his return to acting after more than a decade, fast-rising Hallyu idol and WannaOne member Park Ji-hoon plays Go Young-soo, the most fashionable flower crew member who is considered as an asset because of his unmistakable flair in enhancing the appearances of their clients.
The most handsome man in Hanyang (now Seoul), Ma Hoon, who stands as the leader and best matchmaker of the agency, is impressively portrayed by 23-year-old actor Kim Min-jae. Aside from his swooning aesthetics, he also captivates hearts with his flawless logic to accomplish every marriage requests regardless of how difficult they are.
Meanwhile, despite being known as the top dealer of information in Hanyang who uses his intelligence in gleaning information from a courtesan house for most favorable matchmaking, Byun Woo Suk’s Do Joon is still being easily underestimated because of his flower boy façade. Unbeknown to many, he is an expert in the Analects of Confucius, politics, and medicine, and is admired for his pure personality.
Completing the crew is the stubborn and gumptious Gae-ttong played by Gong Seung-yeon. A lowly peasant who is King Lee Soo’s first love, she is adored because of how hardworking she is as she tries to make both ends meet by juggling odd jobs and her honesty and bravery that also often gets her in trouble.
Speaking of King Lee Soo, the lovable monarch is played by young actor Seo Ji-hoon. Aside from being kind-hearted, he is also admired for his determination to keep his lady Gae-ttong by his side amidst of the circumstances that attempt to tear them apart.
And last, but definitely not the least, is the wealthy, intelligent, and beautiful young lady who has a picky taste in men and harbors a love-hate relationship with Do Joon.
