Goblin is definitely over but fans could still not move on from the “fever” the hit Korean drama brought. Since its dubbed version was aired on Primetime Bida, the public has been clamoring for a Filipino remake and even suggested actors best suited for these Goblin characters. These include the mysterious yet admirable characters of Kim Shin, Grim Reaper, Erin, and Sunny, portrayed by seasoned Korean actors Gong Yoo, Lee Dong Wook, Kim Go Eun, and Yoo In Na, respectively.
In line with this, we are opening a poll for you to make your choice of the best Kapamilya artists who may be part of this dream cast. We have come up with some possible combinations you can choose but you can also suggest other dream matches to play the fabulous four lead roles on Goblin. (Note: There are no plans yet for a Goblin Pinoy adaptation.)
Here they are:
Piolo Pascual as Kim Shin
Piolo and Gong Yoo are somewhat on the same plain in terms of career accomplishments and acting prowess. As such, Piolo could easily ace the portrayal of Kim Shin with his eyes closed.
Erich Gonzales as Erin
Her bright personality as Pinang in her last drama Be My Lady could attest that Erich is a good pick for the Pinay Erin, not to mention her charming and innocent-looking face.
Richard Guttierez as Grim Reaper
His previous depictions of gallant and honorable superheroes and his current frightening portrayal of Sandrino, the villain vampire in La Luna Sangre, could definitely prepare Richard for the supposedly terrifying yet effectually warmhearted Grim Reaper. Is this another step forward in Richard’s colorful career?
Sarah Lahbati as Sunny
Of course, who would be the better pair for Richard than his beautiful and sexy wife Sarah? But more than that, she fits Sunny to a T, with her attractiveness and style.
Nadine Lustre as Erin
Aside from her glowing and innocent-looking beauty, Nadine has the possibility to pass as her character as Leah in the hit series On the Wings of Love that somehow mirrors the personality of Erin – optimistic, persistent, and gumptious – which she brilliantly played.
Paulo Avelino as Kim Shin
Who knows that the serious actor can also do drama, action, and comedy in one show? He showed us his dramatic flair in many of his projects, but he was able to display his funny side in the indie film I’m Drunk I Love You and his action-star side in the historical film Heneral Luna. Plus, he remains handsome during those intense scenes, just like Gong Yoo.
Zanjoe Marudo as Grim Reaper
We never imagined that he could be the Pinoy version of Grim Reaper until he posted photos of him channeling the said character while walking along the scenic places in Sweden. Everyone gushed that he could be the most perfect fit for the role in terms of looks and aura.
Ellen Adarna as Sunny
She possesses the effortless sultriness and sassiness that are required for someone who’s going to play the role of Sunny. Besides, her team-up with Zanjoe in the satire movie My Illegal Wife proves that they could have the same chemistry the Peach couple had.
John Lloyd Cruz as Kim Shin
There’s no doubt that the award-winning actor is great in portraying any role given to him – may that be drama, action, and comedy. His compelling performance in his recent reprisal as Mateo Rodriguez in the pilot week of La Luna Sangre could be enough for us to believe that he could be the Pinoy Kim Shin.
Sarah Geronimo as Erin
She may not be as young as Kim Go Eun, but Sarah’s youthful vibe and bubbly personality make her seem ageless and even look like a naïve high school girl. Besides, she and John Lloyd have proven their romantic chemistry in the films they top-billed together.
Jericho Rosales as Grim Reaper
He would not be considered as one of this country’s well-loved matinee idols and sought-after leading men for nothing. With his good looks and a long list of top-rating and blockbuster hit projects under his belt, he would be great contender for the role.
Arci Muñoz as Sunny
Being one of those sexy actresses with a vivacious nature, Arci could pass as Sunny who has the same personality as hers. We all got amused by her compelling portrayal of a brokenhearted girl in Camp Sawi and she wowed as with her dramatic flair in Magpahanggang Wakas, which she co-starred with Jericho.
Matteo Guidicelli as Kim Shin
From rushing to racetrack finish lines, Matteo has shown us in his 10-year career in showbiz that he can also make the hearts of the viewers rush as well. We’ve all seen his dramatic skills in Dolce Amore and his talent in comedy in Moron 5.2: The Transformation, but can he also do those fighting scenes in Goblin? That’s for us to see.
Kisses Delavin as Erin
The pretty and naïve Pinoy Big Brother alumna could actually a great contender as the Pinay Erin. With her cute and angelic face, who would not fall for her indescribable charm? Besides, she would not garner a lot of followers if she didn’t have that bright and cheerful personality that Erin has.
Arjo Atayde as Grim Reaper
His looks seem to match the captivating role, moreso his acting skills can do justice to admirable Grim Reaper. Why? We all got awestruck with his compelling and impeccable portrayal of Joaquin in the hit primetime action-drama FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. Yes, it’s time for him to do such idyllic roles as Grim Reaper once this dream adaptation materializes someday.
Bianca King as Sunny
By just looking at their photos, it seemed that Bianca and Yoo In Na have a lot in common. When it comes to performance, they also have similarities, basing on Bianca’s portrayals in the 2010 movie Working Girls and her current stint in Pusong Ligaw. She may just be new to the eyes of solid Kapamilyas, but Bianca actually starred in various projects that has honed her versatility as an actress and could definitely be an awesome Sunny.
