A group of handsome oppas is keeping us up weeknights as they take us to their misadventures as young warriors in the Korean historical drama Hwarang broadcast in the ABS-CBN primetime block after The Good Son.
Spearheaded by six of the hottest up-and-rising and well-loved Korean actors namely, Park Seo Joon, Choi Min-ho, Do Ji-han, Jo Yoon-woo, Kim Tae-hyung, and Go A-ra, this K-drama tells the tale of an elite cluster of young men dubbed as “Hwarang” who train themselves in the arts, culture, and self-defense for one of them will be hailed as their new king. In the long run, they were able to unravel their passions and develop friendships within their number.

Park Seo Joon
He’s been a household name after appearing in renowned TV K-dramas such as Dream High 2 (2012), She Was Pretty (2015), and Fight for My Way (2017). But the 28-year-old actor is not only popular for his portrayals but with his sunny personality as well that makes it effortless for him to get along with his fellow actors.
Some of his best buddies include the whole gang of Hwarang with Park Hyung Sik as the closest to him, his co-star in the film Midnight Runners Kang Ha Neul, and his rival in She Was Pretty Choi Si-won. But it seems that he’s got a tighter bond with the Super Junior member since he attended the wedding of Seo Joon’s younger brother.
Catapulted to fame as one of the talented members of Hallyu boyband Shinee in 2008, Min-ho also showcased his acting prowess as he scored roles in various television dramas such as To the Beautiful You that he top-billed in 2012.
With his exemplary performances and powerful impact through the years, he has received numerous recognitions and nominations from different award-giving bodies and even became an Honorary Ambassador for Youth in 2011. And this year, international magazine Vogue picked him as one of their Top 12 Sexiest Man Alive alongside Hollywood personalities Chris Pine, Ezra Miller, Bill Skarsgard, Cole Sprouse, and a few more.
He may be unrecognizable to many, but you might recall him if we say that he appears in the Lee Min-ho and Park Shin-hye starrer The Heirs. The 26-year-old actor played as Moon Joon-young, a victim of bullying carried out by Kim Woo-bin’s antagonistic character due to his “welfare status” in the said 2013 hit drama. Already remember him?
But the guy doesn’t only act because he also possesses good vocals which he exhibited in the series K-Pop: The Ultimate Audition (Strongest Survival) five years ago.
Playing the role of the very competitive, vicious, and power-hungry Ban-ryu in Hwarang, Ji-han in real life is definitely opposite. He’s a go-getter and a fun-loving person who, according to his interview in a Korean media outlet, opts to be involved on a reality-based programs, especially if he will be joined by his gang in the period drama, than to be in talk variety shows.
It’s apparent that the 21-year-old wonder is so multifaceted as he exhibited his impressive singing, rapping, and dancing skills as a member of the phenomenal K-pop group BTS. But he astonished us when he appeared in Hwarang as the youngest, bright and congenial warrior Han-sung.
As a matter of fact, V is a close friend of Love in the Moonlight leading man Park Bo-gum whom he met through a mutual friend.
He’s definitely one of the most sought-after oppas nowadays. However, whenever his schedule permits, Hyung-sik is definitely the guy you want to be with round the clock! In his interview with ABS-CBN Lifestyle during his first-ever fan meeting this month, he divulged that he rather spend his leisure time singing at karaoke clubs, partying with friends, scuba diving, and playing bowling and video games.
