Pinoy Korean drama fans are now excited as the much-awaited dubbed version of the well-loved series Weightlifting Fairy will be hitting our TV screens starting Monday, July 10 on Primetime Bida.
But to make it more thrilling, did you know that Korean heartthrob and multi-awarded actor Lee Jong Suk will have a cameo role in one of its first episodes?
Here is the behind-the-scenes video of Jong Suk’s special appearance, exclusive on I Want TV: http://bit.ly/2uPxFB7
He would show up as a customer in the chicken restaurant owned by Kim Bok Joo’s (Lee Sung Kyung) father. In that scene, he would grab Uncle Dae Ho’s (Kang Ki Young) wrist and ask, “Haven’t I seen you somewhere before?” referring to the romantic fantasy drama “W” where they co-starred.
Despite his busy schedule, the actor didn’t hesitate to share a portion of his time to the drama to show his support for his friend of 10 years Sung Kyung, as well as for Green Snake Media and MBC who also teamed up for the said drama.
In an interview, Jong Suk expressed his support for Weightlifting Fairy, commenting, “It makes me happy that I’m able to appear in ‘Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo’ because of good relationships. Please love this drama just as much as you loved ‘W.’ May it be a success!”
The 28-year-old actor was cast in several Korean series and flicks, such as Secret Garden (2010), High Kick: Revenge of the Short Legged (2011), Pinocchio (2014), and W (2016). He also appeared as Dara’s (Sandara Park) boyfriend in 2NE1’s “I Don’t Care” music video.
Aside from him, fellow “W” star Park Won Sang would also cameo as the wise and placid doctor to whom Joon-hyung (Nam Joo Hyuk) seeks advice in overcoming his race dives trauma.
