After 15 years, the Asianovela we first loved and kept on cherishing over the years returns.
Judging from the trailer, clippings, and online snippets, this new retelling of Meteor Garden promises to be as enthralling as the original version that kept us hooked from beginning to end in the early 2000s.
As the second coming of Meteor Garden is about to conquer our primetime viewing once more starting Monday, May 4, here are the reasons why you should watch it unfalteringly.
The handsome, talented cast
Just like the pioneer adaptation, here are four new dashing and rich young men, who will take on the iconic F4, who will swoon our hearts with their extremely good looks and unmistakable charisma, plus another cute and strong-willed Shan Cai who will captivate us again with her tenacity.
It's time for neophytes Dylan Wang, Darren Chen, Connor Leong, and Caesar Wu to portray Dao Ming Si, Hua Ze Lei, Mei Zuo, and Xi Men, respectively, and for emerging actress Shen Yue to take on the iconic role of Shan Cai.
Going through their fabulous photos and random videos on social media, we can easily perceive the chemistry among the cast and how appealing they are, making them our new idols.
The modern interpretation
The newest remake maybe based from the original broadcast in 2001, but the current production team still spearheaded by Angie Chai, changed some of its elements in to make it relevant to the current generation while adhering to the storyline.
Some of the adjustments we noticed the overall production design, the characters' fashion and activities, and the shooting locations (from Taipei to Shanghai and from New York to London). For sure, you can spot more improvements once you begin watching it.
The catchy music
Of course, a drama wouldn't be complete without its official soundtrack that tickles our emotions in every scene.
In Meteor Garden's case, its opening song "Ni Yao De Ai" by Penny Dai and closing "Qing Fei De Yi" by Harlem Yu terribly pumped us up everytime we hear them play. And now, these tracks will be used again in the incarnation, alongside American pop singles "River" by Bishop Briggs and "Say Something" by A Great Big World", and the new F4’s own endearing songs “For You” and “Never Would’ve Thought Of.”
The remarkable scenes
Since it stuck to the original narrative, we can expect to see a lot of familiar scenes in the latest reboot that used to absolutely thrill and move us in the previous adaptation that are given modern execution.
With the long list of much-awaited iconic moments, we're not going to enumerate them anymore and would let you enjoy every episode for yourselves.
Basically, it's Meteor Garden
Actually, we assume that hard selling it is not necessary anymore since it's the recreation of the phenomenal drama we incessantly loved through the years. It touched our hearts and made our lives colorful and extraordinary.
It also drastically changed the lives of avid viewers, who were not only smitten with the cast members but were astonished by the story as well.
Prepare to fall in love again with the retelling of the Asianovela that started it all, beginning Monday, May 4 on Primetime Bida.
