From entertaining and astounding us with her killer and snappy dance moves in her appearances in ASAP Natin ‘To, Kim Chiu recently spread happiness to many people as she celebrated her 30th birthday last April 19.
The whole world may be currently plagued with a pandemic that put almost the entire Philippines under enhanced community quarantine and some parts in total lockdown, but this didn’t hinder her and her loved ones from celebrating her special day.
However, instead of throwing an extravagant and fabulous birthday bash, the Chinita Princess spearheaded a huge relief effort around the metro on April 18 by distributing food packages. Her angels at home helped her repack the day before, in three barangays, nine hospitals, and the uniformed personnel manning the checkpoints – as seen in the video blog she posted on her official YouTube channel. Of course, she made sure that they’re all armed with face shields, masks, alcohol, and gloves as they roamed around.
Her family gave her a surprise birthday salubong as the clock struck 12 in the midnight and prepared an intimate birthday celebration for her. Her friend Rina also dropped by to personally greet her, with Bela Padilla dropping by to give her a cake. She and her family attended mass online and prayed the rosary together before heading to the Korean-themed dinner prepared by her beloved beau Xian Lim. Her other close friends also surprised her by holding a Zoom party for her that was arranged by her KreativDen family, the digital marketing and talent management agency that manages her vlog.

As Kim wrapped up her quarantine birthday vlog, she expressed how grateful she is for everyone who greeted her on her special day and assisted her in making her relief efforts.
“Sobra-sobra po ‘yong pasasalamat ko. It’s a different birthday but it is super fun, it is a fulfilling kind of birthday. Walang bonggang celebration but at least, I was able to share. To our frontliners, saludo kami sa inyo. Maliit na bagay lang ‘yong nangyari kahapon pero sana nakapagpasaya ‘yon sa inyo. And then, saludo ako lahat sa inyo mga frontliners,” she said.
She went on to wish for the lockdown to be finally over and for no more additional COVID-19 cases to be reported in the coming days, as well as to express her pride and gratitude to the selflessness and bravery of our frontliners.
Before ultimately bidding farewell to her viewers, she reminded them to stream her newest song “Huwag Kang Bumitaw” on online music streaming apps and on YouTube.
