Every Sunday is a party with ASAP Natin ‘To, but during their February 21 episode, everyone brought their A-game for an all-out #ASAPCelebration. Although there is always something big happening for Kapamilyas each week on the Sunday noontime concert party, it was great to have this grand gathering to celebrate all the love, happiness, and success.
No doubt, Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano pumped everyone with good vibes while performing one of his bops, “Ngiti”, and to take the energy to the next level, P-Pop girl group BINI joined the dance floor. As the tune changed to Pitbull and Ne-yo’s party song “Time of Our Lives”, heartthrobs Joshua Garcia and Enchong Dee danced to make us feel ready to hit the club with them.
The dance fever took over as famous dance hits continued to play. Ogie Alcasid, Jeremy Glinoga, and Kyle Echarri started it off by singing Ogie’s “Sumayaw Sumunod”. Erik Santos, with the next-gen top singers Elha Nympha, Janine Berdin, and Sheena Belarmino, continued to make us jive as they belted “Everybody Dance”. And everybody did, especially as Queen of the Dance Floor Kim Chiu showed us her hot and rocking moves to Gloc 9’s “Sumayaw Ka”.
Pop diva queens Zsa Zsa Padilla, Angeline Quinto, and Klarisse de Guzman livened up the stage with their rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance”. Kapamilya teen idols Vivoree Esclito, Kaori Oinuma, Karina Bautista, Jin Macapagal, and Aljon Mendoza couldn’t help joining in the fun and danced to “Oh Na Na”.
Concert King Martin Nievera, Asia’s Songbird Regine Alcasid-Velasquez, and young singing sensation Darren Espanto definitely couldn’t miss this celebration and heightened the party vibes with Jackson 5’s classic “Blame It On the Boogie”.
In the spirit of celebration, the ASAP family came together to talk about the numerous Kapamilya achievements that deserve to be recognized. Other than some of our Kapamilya stars’ personal milestones, the show also took a moment to highlight Regine’s upcoming virtual concert “Freedom”, soon-to-air teleserye “Huwag Kang Mangamba” starring The Gold Squad (Andrea Brillantes, Seth Fedelin, Kyle Echarri, Francine Diaz) and the success of the new OPM music releases which were featured later in the show.
The first thing everyone wanted to celebrate is the comeback of two big ASAP family members. International dance star AC Bonifacio was welcomed back with overflowing love and support for her career accomplishments. Since winning the dance cover contest for BLACKPINK’s “How You Like That”, she gained millions of views and earned praises for her other dance videos as she got cast for a dance-off in an episode of a popular American series. As part of a special comeback stage, she showed us her signature skills dancing to the song “Come and Get It”.
The next star we greeted back was the Birit Queen we have missed for a couple of months, Morisette Amon. Everyone in ASAP gave their congratulations to the star for the coming release of her newest single and her recent engagement to long-time best friend Dave Lamar. Now heralded as Asia’s Phoenix for her world-class talent and resilience to rise from challenges in her way, Morisette sang and shared her upcoming single “Phoenix”.
A premiere that deserved thunderous applause as well is Season 3 of the celebrity impersonation game show Your Face Sounds Familiar (YFSF). YFSF contestant, The Sample King Jhong Hilario celebrated it on the ASAP stage by serving us with some of TikTok’s top trending dances. The popular video-sharing platform is known for challenging friends to copy moves and put their own twist so Jhong brought in Enchong and Kyle to show-off their own takes of the dance hits to the crowd.
Queen of the Dance Floor Kim Chiu and Dance Floor Sweetheart Maymay Entrata also celebrated dance hits of their own by showcasing their moves to Britney Spears’ biggest songs, “Baby One More Time” and “Toxic”.
Another event that called for celebration was the overwhelming success for the launch of the “Paubaya” music video. As it featured a love lost starring the former love team and real-life couple Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto, OPM hugot song artist Moira Dela Torre wrenched many people’s hearts during the song’s release on Valentine’s Day. Though bittersweet, this beautiful song has reached millions of views already and we are fortunate to have seen it performed live on the ASAP stage by Moira and Martin Nievera. Moira followed her performance with an uplifting love song also from her album, “Pag-Ibig Ang Piliin.”
To continue the OPM Fest, we witnessed some of the biggest bands we have today. Magnus Haven performed their hit song “Imahe” with ASAP singers Jason Dy, Nina, Erik Santos, and Jed Madela. Folk pop band Ben&Ben also graced us with their Valentine’s music drop, “Inevitable”. Spongecola joined the scene performing one of their top singles, “Gemini”. The band’s lead singer Yael Yuzon sang a duet of the song with his mother-in-law and Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla.
Classic original tracks by Megastar Sharon Cuneta were the main theme of the songs for the Diva Showdown among ultimate belters Klarisse De Guzman, Kyla, Angeline Quinto, and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid. One-by-one, they stunned the whole audience with their performance of “Sanay Maghintay Ang Walang Hanggan” and “Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas.”
The Megastar herself also joined the ASAP stage to sing with her fellow YFSF judges, Ogie and Gary V, in further celebration of the show’s third season opening. They harmonized together on timeless hits “I’ll Have To Say I Love You In A Song” by Jim Croce and “Simply Jessie” by Rex Smith.
The party and celebration are sure to continue in many more episodes of ASAP Natin ‘To so be sure to stay tuned every Sunday noontime on Kapamilya Channel (SKYcable channel 8 SD and channel 167 HD, Cablelink channel 8, G Sat Direct TV channel 22, and Cignal channel 22), Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z (both available on analog and digital TV).
