ASAP Natin ‘To artists jammed hard on its March 28, #ASAPastig, performing rock ‘n roll classics through the years. Spectacular singers, dancing idols, and top OPM bands all rocked with world-class performances on the grand stage.
Right from the get-go, electric beats hit the tune of the classic “One Way Or Another” as Gary Valenciano and Jeremy Glinoga sang it together. Belting divas Janine Berdin, Angeline Quinto and Asia’s Songbird herself, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, also jolted us with energy and rocking vibes when they performed “I Can’t Get No (Satisfaction)”.
Not fighting the urge to head bang along, Enchong Dee and Maymay Entrate jumped on stage to join the party and perform “Smells Like Teen Spirit”.
Sensational singers Ogie Alcasid and Nyoy Volante showed off their rough edges as the two melded their voices singing “Born To Be Wild”. Staying on beat, Erik Santos hit those intoxicating high notes of “You Really Got Me” with young divas Sheena Belarmino and Elha Nympha.
Heartthrob Joshua Garcia, global dancing sensation AC Bonifacio, and Queen of the Dancefloor Kim Chiu collabed on a smoking and banger dance number of “Should I Stay Or Should I Go”.
Over the screams of fans and jamming music, Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla and Jed Madela took over the stage singing “I Love Rock ‘N Roll”. Popstar singer Iñigo Pascual and Concert King Martin Nievera then invited the whole ASAP family on stage as they belted the hit rock song, “My Sharona”.
Making the afternoon more astig, Rock Royalty Bamboo, joined by Asia’s Songbird Regine, performed a special version of Michael Jackson’s “Rock With You”, including a stunning quick rap from Bamboo accompanied by chilling vocalizations from Regine.
Moving onto Pinoy rock music, Bulacan-based pop rock band The Juans performed one of their top tracks, “BTNS”, with Iñigo. Right after, indie Pinoy rock band This Band kept hitting us in the feels as they played “Bakit Ganon” on the ASAP stage.
In tribute to the Philippine’s King of Rap Francis Magalona and his huge part in solidifying awesome Pinoy music, ASAP dance idols Kim Chiu, Jameson Blake, Joao Constancia, AC, Joshua, Maymay, Jeremy G, Ronnie Alonte, and Loisa Andalio synchronized in step to the memorable rhythms of the late rap artist.
ASAP’s queen divas Zsa Zsa, Nina, Moira, and Angeline sang a medley of the greatest music from the 2000s hit rock solo singer, Kitchie Nadal.
If we’re having a celebration of rock, there are some classic Pinoy bands that cannot be missed. Timeless Pinoy rock band Aegis, along with ASAP’s next gen divas Janine B, Sheena, Elha, and Zephanie, wowed us with their powerful voices singing the band's iconic music.
Another band that contributed a lot to the country’s rock roots, Mayonnaise, performed their song “Tayo Na Lang Dalawa” with top trending female artist, Moira. Continuing the jam but with a more chill vibe, Mayonnaise and on-the-rise musician Rangel Fernandez graced us with their newest single, “Kailan Ba Ako Gagaling”.
Featuring more Pinoy rock music, ASAP’s stellar singers performed handpicked songs from rock bands that will transcend generations — Itchyworms, Silent Sanctuary, Alamid, Freestyle, Neocolours, and Eraserheads.
Like the festival of rock music on #ASAPastig, ASAP Natin To’ will continue to celebrate awesome music with world-class talent and performers for fans everywhere.
