There’s definitely a lot of reasons to celebrate this day, June 19, and one of those is Father’s Day. Thus, ASAP Natin ‘To made sure to make this day extra special by treating us with remarkable song and dance numbers that we truly enjoyed.
Host Robi Domingo ushered the viewers into the noontime program’s throwback party-themed opening set alongside OPM icons and doting fathers Gary Valenciano and Ogie Alcasid. The ASAP homies commenced the extravaganza in a truly invigorating note as they performed the chorus of Ricky Martin’s “Ole Ole Ole” together.
Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and Gigi de Lana then belted out Mariah Carey’s “Fantasy” while Zsa Zsa Padilla, Janella Salvador, Sheena Belarmino, and FANA got us grooving with their rendition of Shakira’s “Objection”.
Erik Santos and Darren Espanto then enticed us with theirtake on Enrique Iglesias “Bailamos”, to which Jin Macapagal, Joao Constancia, and Jeremy Glinoga danced to. Klarisse De Guzman, Janine Berdin, Elha Nympha, and KZ Tandingan, meanwhile, showed girl power as they sang Christina Aguilera’s “Fighter”.
Ogie, Nyoy Volante, and Jason Dy demonstrated their rapping chops as they performed Will Smith’s “Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It”. On the other hand, Alexa Ilacad, Anji Salvacion, AC Bonifacio, and Maymay Entrata unleashed the inner divas in them as they performed Britney Spears’ “Womanizer”.
Last, but definitely not the least, were Gary V and his nephew Donny Pangilinan who sang “Ole Ole Ole” in full, and were later joined by the whole ASAP fambam! They also didn’t forget to give little presents to talented dads Gary, Ogie, and Nyoy, as well as to birthday celebrator Jason.
To mark the fast-approaching premiere of A Family Affair, its lead stars Jameson Blake, Jake Ejercito, Sam Milby, Gerald Anderson, and Ivana Alawi graced the ASAP stage, with Gigi and the GG Vibes Band performing their rendition of “Akin Ka Na Lang”, the teleserye’s official soundtrack. The gorgeous leading lady in red got speechless when asked by Robi and Zsa Zsa how does it feel to be in the middle of a complicated love affair. Yet, she imparted, how very comfortable she was in and how much she enjoyed working with her castmates because everyone is so talented and kind.
It was followed by an astig musical collaboration of Bamboo and Kyle Echarri as they sang the former’s song “C@ll”, and the energy-infused performance of AC and Maymay of their respective songs “Sumayaw, Sumaya” and “Di Kawalan”, alongside dance hotties Jeremy, Joao, Jin Macapagal, and Jameson. Of course, they didn’t miss to greet Jameson as he celebrated his 25th birthday last June 17 and had him blow his birthday cake.
Mr. Pure Energy Gary V also gave us as stirring musical treat by singing his latest inspirational track “Pwede Pang Mangarap”, which reminds us that we can still rise up, dream of better days, and even lend a hand amid the challenges that we’re going through in life.
As the Philippine adaptation of the Korean drama Flower Of Evil is set to start on June 25 and 26, Supreme Actress Lovi Poe left us all mesmerized with her sultry performance of Ariana Grande’s “God Is A Woman.” She also relayed how amazing it is to be part of the said project as she’d been actually dreaming of doing something great as this and to be able to work with an awesome production.
Nostalgic feels indeed filled our Sunday as Martin Nievera and Asia’s Songbird Regine their awe-inspiring duets of “On The Wings of Love” and “Forever”. This vibe went on with vocal group The Company singing their rendition of the OPM classic hit “Kumusta Ka” with Klarisse and KZ.
Before we get to “The Thrilling Part” of The Broken Marriage Vow as it approaches its heart-shattering and exciting end, a few of its cast also graced the show. Ketchup Eusebio, Bianca Manalo, Jane Oineza, Jake Ejercito, Zaijian Jaranilla, Sue Ramirez, Zanjoe Marudo, and Jodi Sta. Maria really stunned us with their presence as they strutted on the stage. FANA and Gigi De Lana belted out “Sa Tuwing Kailangan Mo Ako”, while Angeline Quinto sang “Walang Pagsisisi”, which are both OSTs of the well-loved primetime series.
When asked how they feel about the conclusion of The Broken Marriage Vow, Sue and Zanjoe conveyed that they both feel sad and proud, while it’s bittersweet for Jodi. The cast also expressed their gratitude to the consistently overwhelming support of the audiences throughout their six month-run.
The ASAP family concluded the episode with a heartwarming Father’s Day appreciation prod, wherein all-star Kapamilya singers jammed to three different old songs that remind us of our dads tender and unconditional love for us.
Gary V spearheaded the first group’s singing of Bill Withers “Lean On Me”, which were comprised of Erik, Janella, Anji, Sheena, Jeremy, JM Yosures, and Elha. The second group, meanwhile, performed Seal’s “Stand ByMe”, with Ogie leading his wife Regine, and their co-stars Angeline, KZ, FANA, Lara Maigue, Angela Ken, and Sam Mangubat. And lastly, Zsa Zsa sang “I’ll Stand By You” by The Pretenders, alongside Darren, Reiven Umali, Jason Dy, Klarisse, JM de Guzman, Gigi, Alexa, Janine Berdin, and Nyoy.
