Top Kapamilya OPM icons and viral Filipino artists were united on ASAP Natin ‘To’s March 7 episode dubbed “ASAP Unite” to deliver world-class performances of pop hits and to celebrate ABS-CBN Entertainment’s unprecedented programming milestone. The announcement that more ABS-CBN shows will be aired on the network’s gracious partner TV5 by Monday, March 8 meant that more loyal viewers will share in the joy and inspiration it provides. Aside from that, guest artists we know and love visit the ASAP stage to showcase their music, beholding the pride and joy of Pinoys. There is no better way to have this celebration than with the ASAP family as they understand the power of music to connect and unite us all.
P-Pop boy band BGYO performed their debut single “The Light”. As we all know, BGYO is a five-member group but, for one-time only, they had a special member on-stage perform with them and it was none other than Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano.
Proving that the greatness of their talent, new pop diva Elha Nympha and the Queen of Teleserye Theme Songs Angeline Quinto performed a duet of Toni Gonzaga’s hit song “This Love is Like”.
Commanders of the dancefloor AC Bonifacio, Loisa Andalio, and Enchong Dee then gave us a front and center show of their electric moves to the TikTok trending song “Pajama Party”.
Next performers, on the other hand, were equally electrifying but with their sensational voices instead. Concert King Martin Nievera, Erik Santos, and Darren Espanto sang their rendition of “Dying Inside” while Klarisse de Guzman and the iDolls trio Lucas Garcia, Matty Juniosa, and Enzo Almario belted “Bam Bam Bam”.
Dancefloor Sweetheart Maymay Entrata grooved to “Tayo Na't Sumayaw” with dashing dancers Joshua Garcia and Ronnie Alonte.
Talented young artists Janine Berdin and Sheena Belarmino joined the iconic OPM singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid in singing a snippet of “Hayaan Mo Sila”.
Kim Chiu’s solo performance of “Haypa” wowed the audience, never failing to prove that she deserves the title of Queen of the Dancefloor.
Pop singing heartthrobs Iñigo Pascual and Jeremy Glinoga performed Sarah Geronimo’s “Kilometro” with Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid.
To mark the exciting airing of our favorite Kapamilya shows on TV5, the music of the hit seryes were performed on the ASAP stage. Gary V touched our hearts with his song “Ililigtas Ka Niya”, which is also the original soundtrack of the longest-running and popular drama starring Coco Martin and several big stars, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. Renowned rock band Aegis delivered a great performance of the theme song of Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin, the primetime revenge drama of Jodi Sta. Maria and Iza Calzado. Prince of Pop Erik Santos was joined by The Voice alum Klarisse de Guzman to sing Walang Hanggang Paalam”, the theme song for the action-drama teleserye of the same name starring Angelica Panganiban, Paulo Avelino, Zanjoe Marudo, and Arci Muñoz.
Ultimate Hatawan hotties Jameson Blake, Joao Constancia, Jeremy G, and AC popped an explosive dance performance. Returning to the ASAP stage, Yassi Pressman also sizzled the floor with her song and dance performance of a remixed version of Olivia Rodrigo’s “Driver’s License”. The fire on the dance floor was even harder to extinguish as dance royalty Kim, Joshua, and Iñigo synchronized their steps on K-Pop track “Bang Bang Bang” by BIGBANG.
Following last week’s Himig 11th showcase, the songs of three more finalists were featured on ASAP. Idol Philippines champion Zephanie Dimaranan belted SJ Gandia’s song of finding hope despite an unrequited love, “Tinadhana Sayo”. Up-and-coming band Kiss ‘N Tell interpreted “Pahina”, a deep storytelling song of unconditional love composed by Joshua Ortiz and Aniceto Cabahug III. Finally, OPM singer Davey Langit and new-scene rapper Kritiko performed Kenneth Reodica’s powerful track resonating the struggles of fellow Filipinos during this pandemic entitled “Mahirap Maging Mahirap”.
The talent was overwhelming when we heard young and shining R&B singer Kiana V perform her original song, “Corners”. Kiana certifies that the V from her dad Gary V is not just inherited, she was born to have it.
Former ASAP Sessionistas Nina and Juris and the Queen of Hugot Songs Moira collabed on their most heart-wrenching hits. Nina led the group’s harmony with her song “Jealous”. Juris followed it with her 2010 hit, “Di Lang Ikaw”. Moira closes their performance with her latest and trending hugot hit, “Paubaya”.
For the very first time on the ASAP Stage, MYX Global Feature Artist and Filipino-American rapper EZ Mil graced us with a live performance of his viral new track, “Panalo”. The song exudes pride of his Pinoy roots which several Filipinos loved and appreciated.
More Pinoy talent overflowed the stage as OPM icons Ogie Alcasid and Martin Nievera joined Pinoy rock band The Juans in singing one of the band’s popular songs, “Pangalawang Bitaw”.
The celebration ended with a fleeting performance from ASAP’s most amazing belting queens. Asia’s Songbird Regine, who recently had her first successful virtual concert entitled “Freedom”, opened with Bette Midler’s “Wind Beneath My Wings”. Klarisse, Angeline, Janine B, Sheena, and Elha soon followed with the classics, “If We Hold On Together” and “When You Tell Me That You Love Me”. They group harmonized to create a wonderful medley — showing how beautiful something can be when family and stories come together.
