One of the timeless romantic drama films in the Philippines that is sure to always bring us that ‘kilig’ factor is the 2004 box office-flick “Milan.”
Starring the Optimum Star Claudine Barretto and the country’s Ultimate Heartthrob Piolo Pascual, the film followed the journey of two overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Italy, who in pursuit of finding themselves were also able to find true love in each other.
Its compelling story and magnificent screenplay captivated the audiences, receiving massive acclamations from critics upon its release. It gained multiple awards from various award-giving bodies, including the FAMAS Awards for Best Actor and Best Actress to its lead stars, the FAP award for Best Actress to Claudine, the Gawad Urian Award for Best Editing to Marya Ignacio, and the Golden Screen Award for Breakthrough Performance by an Actress to its supporting actress Iza Calzado.
Indeed, “Milan” is one great movie that we could acknowledge as one of the gems of the Philippine film industry. Thus, when iWant ASAP hosts Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber went to Rome, Italy, the tandem made sure to not miss the opportunity to assume the roles of Claudine and Piolo by re-enacting one of their most iconic scenes!
As we all know, the ASAP family flew to Rome, Italy last November for #ASAPNatinToRome in lieu of The Filipino Channel’s 25th anniversary celebration.
Apart from bringing world-class entertainment to our fellow Filipinos, Robi Domingo, Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber also took some time to appreciate the grandeur of the city. While being in awe on the beauty of Rome’s most visited tourist attraction called the Colosseum Ruins, Robi suggested that MayWard should re-enact Claudine and Piolo’s ‘kilig’ scene from “Milan,” wherein the latter’s character expressed how mesmerized he was with the beauty of the former’s character.
Wondering how Maymay and Edward managed to contain all their ‘kilig’ and successfully pulled off the re-enactment challenge? Find out by watching this video!
