ASAP Natin ‘To family radiates with pride as they engage in a grand OPM showdown, headlining #ProudlyASAP for its July 18 episode. With more than two decades of delivering world-class entertainment featuring Pinoy topnotch talents, each and every one on stage couldn’t help but beam with joy to show off what Filipinos can do.
Opening the weekend party was a pumped up performance of “Meron Akong Ano.” The beat didn’t stop as Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano entered singing the Black Eyed Peas song “Bebot” and New Gen Dance Princess AC Bonifacio rocked the stage.
Belting singers Sheena Belarmino and Janine Berdin followed it up with a mega cool performance of “Cebuana” as Kapamilya stars Belle Mariano, Francine Diaz, and Karina Bautista danced some bopping moves.
OPM idols Erik Santos, Jason Dy, Jed Madela, and Ogie Alcasid wowed the crowd as they sang King of Rap Francis M’s “Ito Ang Gusto Ko.” Similarly, the moves of dancing hotties Enchong Dee and Jameson Blake left our jaws on the floor.
Top biriteras Angeline Quinto, Klarisse de Guzman, Elha Nympha, and Zephanie Dimaranan performed “Sumayaw Ka” leading Jameson, Joao Constancia, and Aljon Mendoza to break down to the funky beat.
Global pop icon Iñigo Pascual jumped on a banging collab with The Voice alum Kyle Echarri as they rapped the 2020 trending Pinoy pride song of Ez Mil “Panalo”. To crank it up a notch higher, Ronnie Alonte and Donny Pangilinan let out their smoking hot dance skills.
Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla and Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid then delivered a stellar duet singing Gloc-9’s “Sirena”. The iDolls trio Lucas Garcia, Matty Juniosa, and Enzo Almario brought it a level higher as they each joined Zsa Zsa and Regine’s tune.
Showing that Pinoy talent can be on par with world-famous performances, King of Teleserye Theme Songs Erik and Asia’s Soul Siren Nina take on the ASAP Transformation Challenge. They turned into international singers John Legend and Mariah Carey and sang the classic “With You I’m Born Again”.
New Gen Dance Princess AC Bonifacio also joined the transformation challenge to represent our nation’s premier dancing talent. Dressed up as the American singer-songwriter Janet Jackson, AC delivered a concert-worthy song and dance performance of “Rhythm Nation”.
Star Magic artists took over the stage next to give a refreshing 90’s Throwback performance. Teen idols and ultimate love teams DonBelle (Donny and Belle), KyCine (Kyle and Francine), KarJon (Karina and Aljon), and KoDrea (Kobie Brown and Andrea Abaya) gave ultimate kilig feels as they presented their duo dances. Dancefloor Sweetheart Maymay Entrata then upped the pep in the performance with her amazing moves. More current and new Star Magic artists stepped onto the stage to truly show the talent of “Tatak Star Magic”.
The marvelous dancing and voices of Pinoy boyband BGYO prove the promise of P-Pop on the ASAP stage as well. Their performance of “Isigaw Mo” gained tremendous praise from netizens and fans which can definitely get #GalingNatinIto trending again.
ASAP’s New Gen Birit Divas Janine, Sheena, Elha, and Zephanie feature the timeless talent of Pinoy by giving fresh sounds to the classic hits of award-winning Filipino singer-songwriter Ariel Rivera.
World-class performers Moira and Jed brought their singing talent to the forefront as they performed a soothing melody of “Don't Dream It's Over”. Queen of the Dancefloor Kim Chiu also showed off the dance talent that gave her the reigning crown with her hataw and waterworks performance of “Can’t Touch This”.
As a perfect closing to the celebration of Pinoy talent, the country’s top singers gave an astounding OPM tribute performance in The Greatest Showdown. One by one, Gary, Ogie, Zsa Zsa, Erik, and Regine belt the classics that shine the best of Pinoy music.
