ASAP Natin ‘To brought a sizzling treat on Sunday, March 13, as “ASAP On Fire” featured the hottest music and dance performances from the country’s OPM legends and Kapamilya stars.
The fiery concert party started with a wonderful opening number presenting boy band and girl group hits from 1980s to the present. The ASAP performers began the show singing and dancing to the tune of Menudo’s “Explosion” with the Kapamilya dance hotties led by AC Bonifacio, Andrea Brillantes, and Jeremy G displaying their cool dance moves.
Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano then made boyband fans go back to memory lane with his rendition of the Backstreet Boys’ “Get Down” as AC and Andrea indeed got down to showcase their superb dancing skills. Asia’s Pop Heartthrob Darren Espanto and New Gen artist Janine Berdin then took the stage to sing their version of SB19’s “SLMT.”
King of OPM Ogie Alcasid then performed the New Kids on the Block hit “Step by Step” with Jeremy G, as Ronnie Alonte joined the dancing fray. P-pop girl group BINI then sang their popular hit song “Kapit Lang” before Erik Santos, Nyoy Volante, and Enchong Dee performed a rendition of NSync’s “Tearin’ Up My Heart.”
Then a captivating version of the Spice Girls’ “Spice Up Your Life” with Loisa Andalio, Maris Racal, Alexa Ilacad, and Kim Chiu mimicking the legendary British girl group. Up and coming P-pop boy group Alamat then performed their hit “Kasmala.”
Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla made everyone jiggle to the beat of the famous 1980s girl trio Bananarama, singing one of their biggest hits “I Heard A Rumor” with Sheena Belarmino and Angela Ken, as Kapamilya young stars Francine Diaz, Karina Bautista, and Krystal Brimner get into that contagious groove.
P-pop sensation BGYO then brought the house down with their hit single “Kulay” before Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez, R&B Princess Kyla, and pop-rock icon Yeng Constantino concluded the set with the Steps original, “The Last Thing On My Mind.”
To celebrate her 19th birthday, Andrea Brillantes scorched the dance floor together with her close friend, actress Xyriel Manabat bopping to a special version of DJ Sandy’s TikTok smash, “Paro Paro G”. After the number, both extended messages of support and gratitude of sharing a loyal friendship through the years.
An acoustic set followed with Moira dela Torre, Yeng Constantino, Nina, and Ice Seguerra singing Session Road’s “Suntok Sa Buwan” and Yeng’s classic “Cool Off” with New Gen Singers Anji Salvacion, Benedix Ramos, Diego Gutierrez, Angela Kim, Jeremy G, and Jordan Andrews.
In celebration of Star Magic’s 30th year, top talents performed a unique beat box-rap number with Jelay Pilones, Janine B, and Maxene Magalona first rendering Gloc 9’s “Sukli” as Enchong Dee, AC Bonifacio, Darren Espanto, Aljon Mendoza, and emerging artists Lance Carr, Reign Parani, Kurt Mendoza, Kei Kurosawa, Quincy Villanueva, Drey Brown, and Jamina Cruz hitting the ASAP dance floor with their killer moves. Elmo Magalona, Jimboy Martin, and Seth Fedelin then took the stage to perform another Gloc-9 tune, “Hoy!”
Hottest love team KDLex—KD Estrada and Alexa Ilacad—then gave a feel-good performance of Adam Young and Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Good Time” bringing so much kilig vibes to fans and viewers.
An exceptional tribute to the classic pop band Chicago then followed with more new-gen artists performing the band’s biggest hits. Janine B first sang “You’re The Inspiration” and Reiven Umali then crooned “Will You Still Love Me?” Sheena Belarmino gave a deeply felt version of “Hard Habit to Break,” before JM Yosures capped the throwback with his rendition of “Hard to Say I’m Sorry”.
Yet another sizzling dance number followed featuring Pinoy Big Brother ex-housemates Kim Chiu, Maris Racal, and Chie Filomeno performing a scorching take of The Pussycat Dolls’ “Wait a Minute.” This is to mark the entry of the first teen housemates in PBB Kumunity Season 10.
The country’s biggest OPM icons then performed a collection of the hottest music from Pinoy music groups from the 1980s and the 1990s on “The Greatest Showdown.” With musical director Homer Flores on the piano, Gary V started things off with a soulful version of Side A’s “Hold On.” Jed Madela then hit the incredible high notes with his performance of South Border’s “Kahit Kailan.” Zsa Zsa took centerstage to offer a spine-tingling rendition of Side A’s “Set You Free” before Kyla gave her outstanding take of Rivermaya’s “Kisapmata.” Ogie then cooked up a jazzy version of Freestyle’s “So Slow” followed by Erik’s heartfelt rendition of Rivermaya’s “214”. Regine finished the scintillating collection, singing True Faith’s “Muntik Nang Maabot ang Langit.”
