Anthems of freedom and Filipino pride filled the Sunday afternoon party on ASAP Natin ‘To’s Independence Day episode.
Titled #ASAPmalaya, ASAP homies kicked off the celebration with “Ako’y Pilipino” led by Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and Elha Nympha. Asia’s Soul Supreme KZ Tandingan and rising divas Gigi de Lana, Janine Berdin, and Sheena Belarmino pumped up the energy with “Mga Kababayan.” Kapamilya cuties Robi Domingo and Donny Pangilinan also joined in with some grooving moves.
Pinoy Big Brother Kumunity Season 10 Big Winner Anji Salvacion took the stage singing the reality show’s theme song “Pinoy Ako” with Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla and Kapamilya singers Janella Salvador, Fana, and iDolls trio Enzo Almario, Matty Juniosa, and Lucas Garcia.
Showing off Pinoy edge and grit, OPM idols Ogie Alcasid, Jason Dy, JM Yosures, and JM de Guzman performed “Posible” while other ASAP hotties danced along. Erik Santos, Nyoy Volante, Jeremy Glinoga, Sam Mangubat, and Reiven Umali matched their performance with a rendition of “Mangarap Ka.”
A total concert experience ensued when Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano and Asia’s Pop Heartthrob Darren Espanto entered the stage and sang “Bebot.” Dancing royalties AC Bonifacio and Maymay Entrata added extra flair with their stunning choreography.
The theme of being able to freely love overflowed during the New Gen Collab with the Champions, wherein the young singing divas belted classic OPM love duets with former musical champs. Elha and Jason crooned “Magkasuyo Buong Gabi,” then Reiven and Klarisse followed with their version of “Ikaw Lamang.” Janine B was paired up with Erik and sang “Paano Ba Ang Magmahal,” while JM Yosures delivered a duet of “Naliligaw, Nanliligaw” with Angeline Quinto.
A mesmerizing collab between world-class Pinoy rapper Ez Mil and breakthrough female artist Gigi happened next as they performed raynn & Ez Mil’s new song, “Storm.”
Everyone felt the ultimate kilig when the hottest Kapamilya leading men Donny Pangilinan, Seth Fedelin, KD Estrada, Jameson Blake, and JM de Guzman serenaded the crowd with “Harana” and “Gitara.”
Audiences were soothed some more with the melodious voices of Kapamilya ladies Belle Mariano, Maymay Entrata, Alexa Ilacad, and Anji Salvacion with Asia’s Songbird Regine and Divine Diva Zsa Zsa. They offered a touching tribute by singing the songs of birthday celebrant and musical hitmaker Maestro Louie Ocampo.
To keep the freedom party going, Star Magic artists Krystal Brimner, AC Bonifacio, and Jayda each performed their original songs with the rocking dance moves of new talents Angela Tungol, Reign Parani, Kei Kurosawa, and Maxine Trinidad.
New gen composers Angela Ken, Sab, and Trisha Denise were also given the spotlight as they sang “Up!,” their latest composition with Lian Kyla and Jonathan Manalo. The original singers of the song were P-Pop sibling groups BINI and BGYO and they also graced the stage with their own stellar performance.
The Greatest Showdown inspired more hope and inspiration with the music of OPM icon Basil Valdez sung by the country’s finest singers. Mr. Pure Energy Gary V moved viewers with his singing of “Hanggang Sa Dulo Ng Walang Hanggan”, while Divine Diva Zsazsa wowed everyone with her rendition of “Ngayon At Kailanman”. OPM King Ogie touched hearts as he sang “Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo”, as Asia’s Pop Heartthrob Darren did the same with his performance of “Tuwing Umuulan At Kapiling Ka”. King of Teleserye Theme Songs Erik gave a magnificent performance of “Muling Buksan Ang Puso” before Asia’s Songbird Regine closed with a remarkable belting of “Siya Na Ba.”
