From just simply seeing their world-class performance every Sunday afternoon, ASAP PopCut is providing us exclusive backstage access to ASAP Natin ‘To as Darla Sauler gives us a peek of the happenings behind the camera and inside the dressing rooms, as well as chatting with some of our favorite mainstays regarding their fun and memorable experiences on the show!
And in this episode, our gregarious host caught up with the one and only Concert King Martin Nievera by raiding his dressing room! While performers are usually expected to be seen rehearsing for their next number or on-screen appearance, we spotted him busy coloring a digital coloring sheet on his iPad.
According to him, it’s actually his way of relaxing his mind in between takes, which he only does if he already has a full grasp of the song he’s going to perform. But aside from his coloring sheet, he also stores in his handheld device the audio and lyrics of the songs he would do in a certain ASAP Natin ‘To episode, as well as the copy of their spiels, in his pursuit to go paperless.
Martin also showed us his super organized rack of clothes that he would use for their one month taping and the content of his hand carry bag, which include extra shirt, extra shoes, and personal hygiene kits.
Just like any other ASAP Natin ‘To artist, he also looks forward on that day when studio audiences will be allowed to watch live shows again as he will definitely attempt to make it feel or look like a grand family reunion.
He went on to impart, as well, the special connection he has with The Filipino Channel subscribers, citing how he’s been part of it ever since it was established years ago, not to mention being the one to compose it’s very first theme song.
“What makes our relationship special is we are going through true life experiences together. This COVID-19, this virus, has brought us even closer even though we’re so far apart. We have so much in common and we miss each other so much. How can I miss you if you’ll always there? So, when we see each other again – and we will! – the reunion will be just as much sweeter. Kapamilya, I miss you, I love you, and I need you. Don’t give up on us,” the 58-year-old singer said.
You can watch ASAP Natin ‘To every Sunday high noon on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z and binge-watch past episodes on iWant TFC!
