Can you believe we’re almost half a year into 2022? The ASAP Natin ‘To homies celebrated the mid-year cheer with an afternoon party on the first Sunday of June. And it was extra exciting with all the comeback surprises one after the other.
Resident kabogera Maymay Entrata is one of the faces everyone was glad to see again on the ASAP stage. She opened the #ASAPcomeback episode with her personal anthem, “Amakabogera.”
Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla, Janine Berdin, and Lara Maigue were also fiery queens with their rendition of “Miss You Much.” Sensational P-Pop girl group BINI joined in the sparking energy as they performed their “Pit A Pat.”
As a hot treat, hataw hotties Joao Constancia, Edward Barber, and Jin Macapagal stole the stage with their groovy moves to the song “YMCA.” The Pinoy classic “Tara Tena” then blared as Jeremy Glinoga, AC Bonifacio, Sheena Belarmino, and Angela Ken sang along.
Rock and roll filled the air as handsome belters Darren Espanto, Jason Dy, Erik Santos, and Ogie Alacsid performed “Livin’ On A Prayer”.
The talented MNL48 bunch then caught the audience with their live performance of their song “No Way Man.” To make viewers’ hearts flutter even more, trending love teams KDLex (KD Estrada and Alexa Ilacad), DonBelle (Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano), and FranSeth (Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin) serenaded everyone – and each other – with Ogie and Regine’s new song, “ILY.”
“Queen of the Dancefloor” Kim Chiu and multi-talented star Janella Salvador captivated audiences with their dance cover of the trending song “ZOOM” by Korean-American rapper, Jessi. Hottest male P-Pop group BGYO also showed off their cool guy vibes with their performance of their original song “Best Time.”
Energy overflowed when Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano and powerful singing divas Gigi de Lana and KZ Tandingan sang the bop, “Boogie Wonderland”.
The next surprise of the Sunday variety show was the return of “Queen of Teleserye Theme Songs” and renowned Power Diva Angeline Quinto. After welcoming her little bundle of joy to the world and celebrating her entrance to motherhood, Angeline’s close showbiz friends Regine, Erik, Jason, Zsa Zsa, Jolina Magdangal, and Vina Morales crooned the song “Baby Mine” as a touching gift. Angeline returned her appreciation with a meaningful performance of her song, “Nag-Iisa Lang.”
Another celebration ensued for the premiere of the new romantic series, Love In 40 Days. Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte sang “Magmahal Muli” as a treat for their LoiNie fans. The reel-to-real couple was also joined by their co-stars Kobie Brown, Andie Abaya, and Benedix Ramos to thank the supporters of their recently-released show.
While LoiNie marked the beginning of a series, the Pinoy Big Brother family celebrated the end of the recently-concluded season. Former housemates and Big Winners Maymay, Kim, and Melai Cantiveros sang a moving performance of Maymay’s “Pangarap” before introducing PBB Kumunity Season 10 Big Winner Anji Salvacion. The “The Singing Sweetheart of Siargao” expressed her happiness and gratitude for all the blessings and support as she sang Yeng Constantino’s “Pangarap Lang.”
Many have been waiting for the grand comeback of Asia’s Phoenix Morissette and the recent episode delivered. Right on time for her birthday, Morissette returned to the ASAP stage with a glorious performance of Camila Cabello’s “Bam Bam.” She was even joined by Asia’s Pop Heartthrob Darren and G-Force.
As the audience settled in the dancing mood, dancefloor royalty Kim unleashed a full force of smooth gliding moves with the members of pro dance group, Manoeuvres Ignite.
A birthday bash was also offered to the darling singer-actress and He’s Into Her star Belle Mariano. All eyes were on her as she performed her song, “Kahit Na, Kahit Pa.” The segment was sprinkled with some more sweetness when her love team partner Donny joined her on stage and switched the song to a duet.
The afternoon festivity was capped off with a heartwarming tribute to “The Queen Of Philippine Movies” Susan Roces. As her life and work touched the hearts of many, ABS-CBN, including the ASAP family, wanted to express their condolences, gratitude, and love for the iconic actress. The best singers came together for an all-star tribute singing the inspirational and moving songs “Ililigtas Ka Niya,” “’Wag Ka Nang Umiyak,” “Sa'yo Lamang” “'Di Ka Nag-Iisa,” and “Tanging Yaman”, in remembrance of Susan Roces.
