The Voice Teens alum Jeremy Glinoga is back in the United States but that doesn’t stop him from making music and keeping in touch with his fans in the Philippines. Here he is catching up with everyone via Kapamilya Chat!
The time spent with family acts as Jeremy’s break from all negativity and stress. While he’s having a pleasant time in his hometown in California, Jeremy also misses performing on stage and hanging out with his friends like Darren Espanto, AC Bonifacio, and Joao Constancia. Thankfully, he can keep in touch with them virtually. “I’m thankful na kahit nandito ako sa United States, they would reach out and keep me updated with everything that’s happening to them. It’s like I never left,” he said of his squad.
Jeremy, whose biggest artistic influence is Bruno Mars, talked about his idol and his music. He said he aspires to be like Bruno Mars one day, not only in performing, more so in writing songs and producing for other artists. For local singers, he looks up to Gary Valenciano, whom he calls the Philippines’ Bruno Mars. He admires Gary V, so much his most favorite performance of all time is their rock and roll prod on ASAP Natin ‘To. “Just being on stage with Sir Gary, I can’t believe it. Ako ‘yung ka-duet ni Sir Gary, it was crazy!”
After that performance, he asked Gary’s advice about songwriting, and he was told by Mr. Pure Energy himself to just write what he loves and that he doesn’t need to be pressured by the trends. “If people like it, maybe it can be a trend as well. So sabi niya sa akin, ‘Just write what you love and you’re going to be happy with the result either way.’”
He looks forward to collaborating with Inigo Pascual as well since they’re good friends and they share the same taste in music.
The OPM star has a new single titled “Sayaw,” written by Richard Poon. He and Kritiko were handpicked by Richard to interpret the song and that alone makes him feel honored. “It goes to show that he believes in me. Hopefully, we give justice sa song niya at magustuhan din ng listeners ang song,” he said.
“Sayaw” is a track that has a beautiful message behind. As what was discussed to him by the writer himself, Jeremy shared that “Sayaw” is an ode to young people, as if telling them to take things slow, stop worrying about things that are beyond their control, and enjoy the moment. Jeremy is one to always think two steps ahead to the point of worrying. But when he was able to take a break, he realized that life is indeed meant to be enjoyed.
Jeremy also praises Kritiko for being hardworking, creative, and passionate. That’s why he got more excited upon learning that the rap artist will be part of the track. Fans can now check out the performance video. Another thing to look forward to is Jeremy’s album, which he started making last year.
As a total performer, Jeremy said dancing gets easier when he enjoys the moment. “That’s what I really like about dancing, you can express yourself in many ways that you don’t normally express yourself.” Asked the best song to describe his life right now, Jeremy spread good vibes with Pharell Williams’ “Happy.”
