In spite of the current situation we’re in, avid fans of multi-faceted heartthrob James Reid still find something to be joyous about as he marks his 27th birthday on May 11!
Since programming of ABS-CBN is currently suspended, our hopes of seeing him grace ASAP Natin ‘To to treat us with at least a swooning song number for his special day. Thus, for now, let’s marvel in some of the photos of him from his childhood up to the present that we’re able to dig up around the internet and from his Instagram account and collated in this gallery, as well as look back on his stellar journey in the local entertainment scene.
We all know that he rose to fame when he joined Pinoy Big Brother Teen Clash 2010 and became its eventual Big Winner. He appeared in a several television programs, such as teen musical variety show Shoutout! (2010), teen dance musical anthology Good Vibes (2011), and romantic drama Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Pintada (2012).
James’ biggest break came in 2014 when he had his big screen debut through the film adaptation of the highly popular teen online literature “Diary Ng Panget” opposite Nadine Lustre. It was succeeded by their team-up in another movie “Talk Back And You’re Dead,” his supporting stint in “Relaks, It’s Just Pag-ibig,” his cameo gig in “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin,” and his first-ever TV project with her Wansapanataym’s “My App #Boyfie” – all in that same year.
As JaDine skyrocketed to fame and became among the most popular loveteams of their generation, he saw him star in a slew of successful projects alongside Nadine in 2015, namely, “Para sa Hopeless Romantic,” “Beauty and the Bestie,” “Stuffed Toy” episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya, and the phenomenal romantic comedy drama On The Wings Of Love.
They continue to thrill their adoring fans in the following years by starring in the blockbuster hit “This Time” (2016), the romance-drama series Till I Met You (2016), and the critically acclaimed flick “Never Not Love You” (2018). They also became the newest addition to the hosting line-up of It’s Showtime.
He then scored several projects sans his reel-to-real sweetheart Nadine, namely, Filipino remake of South Korean film “Miss Granny” (2018) and judging stint in reality singing contest Idol Philippines (2019).
Aside from being an impressive actor and a well-loved TV personality, James is also prolific recording artist as he’s able to produce a number of records and numerous singles, as well as get featured in several songs, throughout his 10 years in show business. At the same time, he’s also able to put up his own record label named Careless Music Manila in 2018, wherein he’s the current chairman.
He’s also been recognized by several award-giving bodies through the years, such as “Best Southeast Asia Act” in 2017 from MTV Europe Music Awards, “German Moreno Youth Achievement Award” in 2014 from FAMAS Awards, “Prince of Philippine Television” in 2016 from GMMSF Box-Office Entertainment Awards, and “RnB Artist of the Year” in 2015 from PMPC Star Awards for Music to name a few.
Wishing you more projects and achievements to come, James! Happy birthday!
