We all know her as a great entertainer, whose golden and soulful voice is heard on ASAP Natin ‘To. But more than her remarkable performances, Angeline Quinto is admired for being doting and selfless daughter to her late Mama Bob.
Those who have been following her showbiz career ever since she joined the 2011 ABS-CBN talent search Star Power: Sharon Search For the Next Female Superstar would have indeed witnessed how much she loves her Mama Bob, her father's aunt who stood as her adoptive mom since she was born.
As a way of paying back to her mom’s unconditional love, unwavering support, and unparalleled sacrifices for her, the “Queen of Teleserye Theme Songs” made sure to give her a comfortable life that they never used to have when she was growing up, as well as pampered her and took her to different places in the world everytime her hectic work schedule permitted.
We’re also able to see it through her guestings in Magandang Buhay in the recent years, where Angeline never ran out of nice words to say about her.
Even though she already met her biological mom, Angeline told the momshie-hosts in one of her guestings in 2018 that the reason why she still chose to stay with Mama Bob was the only person who was there for her.
“Kung wala po si Mama Bob, siguro wala rin pong Angeline ngayon. Kaya sabi ko sa sarili ko, ipaparamdam ko kay Mama Bob ‘yong mga dating pangarap niya lang at sisiguraduhin kong mararanasan niya lahat ng magandang buhay,” she tearfully uttered.
In their appearance on the morning show together in 2019, they imparted the simple, random ways that Mama Bob took care of Angeline – from reminding her to update her from time to time whenever she had work trips out-of-town and abroad, preparing her favorite viand every time she went home from an out-of-the-country work, packing food that she could take to work, up to massaging her body every time her masseuse failed to show up.
As Mama Bob passed away in November 2020, months after she was first rushed to the hospital due to a stroke, Angeline broke our hearts with her tear-jerking posts that showed the deepest love she always had for her dearest mom.
"Hinding hindi ako mapapagod sa pagpapasamalat sayo Ma, dahil sa pagkakataong ibinigay mo sa akin para maging anak mo, (sic)" Angeline said in a post.
She added in a separate post with a pic of her embracing her Mama Bob as she succumbed, “Mag-iingat ka sa pag lalakbay Mama. Hindi man kita maalalayan sa paglalakad ngayon patungo sa paraiso, masaya ako nandyan ang Panginoon para umalalay sa'yo... Hanggang sa muli nating pagkikita MAHAL NA MAHAL KONG MAMA BOB. (sic)"
It may have been difficult for her, but she’s able to endure the pain of her loss as she promised Mama Bob that she’s going to continue fulfilling their dreams.
“Ang dami ko pa kasing gustong gawin, ang dami ko pang pangarap na gustong matupad. At di naman ako hihinto dahil lang nawala ang Mama Bob kasi lahat naman ng mga patuloy ko pang gagawin para pa rin sa kanya e,” she stated in her Magandang Buhay interview in 2021.
Angeline will always love and remember her Mama Bob for all the love and sacrifices she has made for her. She will definitely remain in her heart and mind and continue to be her inspiration to hit the high notes of life, especially now that she’s about to enter the newest chapter of her life as a mom.
In fact, she and her partner agreed to name their upcoming baby boy after Mama Bob as her way of paying tribute to her and keeping her memories alive.
