Celebrating Women’s Month in March, ASAP Natin ‘To introduced one of many Filipinas who continually makes the whole country proud. Hailing from the City of Baguio, Ingrid Payaket, 30 years old, once used her voice to be able to show everyone her talent in singing and to be able to take pride in the culture she has.
In her story, she developed her passion and talent in singing during her college days. It was in 2009 when she graduated from college that Pilipinas Got Talent also was on its maiden season. That is why Ingrid gave it a shot and luckily, because she really has the talent, she made it to the Grand Finals.
According to her, it was through the competition that she got to unify her community and that she got to represent women in the competition. It opened a lot of opportunities for Ingrid as she became a host and an events singer. Moreover, she became part of the acapella group Pinopela.
In 2017, things have changed for Ingrid. It was during that year that she realized she wanted to pursue nursing as a career. But pursuing this dream of hers came with hardships as she faced family problems. Ingrid did not expect the demand of the job. She experienced how hard it was to be away from her family while she was on duty.
She admitted also that she needed to go back to training and it came with the responsibility of having herself equipped as a nurse. Ingrid worked hard and persisted until she genuinely loved her job as a nurse. Also, even though we won’t see her anymore on stage performing, we would still hear her voice and see her perform in the hospital she’s working for, as they would have activities which let the staff of the hospital showcase their talents.
Ingrid admits she does all of these for her family, and she feels so satisfied in giving service to people.
