Apart from the slew of acting jobs and musical projects that she's been receiving since she stepped out of the Pinoy Big Brother house and was hailed as the Big Winner of the Lucky Season 7, Maymay Entrata has also been invited to grace the runways of various fashion shows in and out of the country.
Recently, Dubai-based Filipino designer Furne One, the owner of the AMATO couture house and designer of her gown for the ABS-CBN Ball 2018 held last September 29, invited her for the Arab Fashion Week casting call. The show will take place on November 21 at the Dubai Design District (D3).
But this is not the first time that the 21-year-old promising star was asked to walk the runways and don a fabulous creation. Pinoy designer Rajo Laurel also extended an invite for Maymay to don his creation at his Red Charity Ball.
Since she really has what it takes to be a professional, high-fashion model because of her lean physique and unmistakable knowledge in working through the lenses, the clamor for her to continue strutting her way to the prestigious modelling competition Asia's Next Top Model grew louder. This intensified when the host of its Hollywood counterpart and illustrious supermodel Tyra Banks "liked" two of her photos posted on Twitter, explicitly the ones taken from the Star Magic Ball in October 2017 and a local fashion magazine in February 2018.
However, amidst the outcry of her staunch supporters through social media, including posting her photos on the Facebook page of Asia’s Next Top Model as one of the candidates they wish to see on Cycle 6, Maymay said that while she thanked everyone for their appreciation, she would not compete in the modeling reality competition.
In an interview with PUSH, she divulged that modeling has always been one of her interests and looks up to Tyra and Carla Delevigne as her idols. She also recalled joining modeling competitions and stints when she was still in Davao.
Unlike her contemporaries who undergo intensive and rigorous training in various modelling agencies, the multi-talented young artist got her lessons from videos of professional models sashaying on the runway and their interviews on YouTube. That's how she learned how to project and gained her confidence.
You go, girl!
