Pinoy rock dominates ASAP Rocktober

It was a high-energy celebration on ASAP Natin ‘To’s October 3 episode. Headlining it as #ASAProcktober, the nation’s world-class performers bust out rocking beats and moves, as well as thrilling surprises from our favorite Kapamilya idols.

Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and top diva Angeline Quinto began the afternoon fest belting “Laklak” with hunks Enchong Dee and Ronnie Alonte grooving along. More of our iconic biriteras Kyla, Elha Nympha, and Janella Salvador joined in the party singing Yeng Constantino’s “Time In.”

Asia’s Pop Heartthrob Darren Espanto and singing idol Sheena Belarmino unleashed their jaw dropping rapping skills while performing “Bagsakan.” Kapamilya stars Edward Barber and Jeremy Glinoga followed in stride with their spunky moves.

Diving into more Pinoy rock classics, belting divas Zsa Zsa Padilla, Klarisse, and Janine Berdin wowed the crowd with their performance of Eraserheads’ “Alapaap.” The ultimate hatawan by Jameson Blake, Charlie Dizon, Karina Bautista, and Aljon Mendoza made it even more spectacular.

Male singing icons Erik Santos, Nyoy Volante, and Jason Dy showed off their rough yet handsome voices singing “Penge Naman Ako N’yan.” New Gen Dance Princess AC Bonifacio and dancing diva Loisa Andalio followed it up with their popping choreography.

King of OPM Ogie Alcasid stepped up the energy level as he sang “Bitiw.” Upping the heat on stage, ASAP Heartthrob Enchong Dee gave a fiery dance performance to the Spongecola hit.

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the reel-to-real love team KathNiel, New Gen Birit singers performed back-to-back duets that made us feel the sweet kilig of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla’s love. Sheena and Tawag Ng Tanghalan Season 4 winner JM Yosures sang “Got to Believe,” which was also the title of KathNiel's 2013 comedy-drama series. Breakout singers Lara Maigue and Anthony Castillo sang “Pangako Sa ‘Yo”, which recalls the 2015 remake that the ultimate love team made. Next, Janine and sensational singer Sam Mangubat gave an astounding rendition of “Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin,” the theme song of Daniel and Kathryn’s 2017 fantasy drama La Luna Sangre. To bring together the beautiful medley, Elha and TNT Season 5 winner Reiven Umali belted the classic “I'll Never Love This Way Again,“ in reference to the 2016 romantic film of the King and Queen of Hearts, “Barcelona: A Love Untold.”

Asia’s Pop Heartthrob Darren continued making our hearts flutter as he performed “Every Little Step”. Together with the top dance moves of AC, Loisa, and Charlie, it was a concert-like experience.

Multi-talented actor and Kapamilya crush Joshua Garcia celebrated his birthday on the show with his friends in the industry. To make it more special, he offered a smoking hot dance performance with his fellow Star Magic artists, including his on-screen partner Janella Salvador.

An extreme vocal showdown ensued as the country’s premier singing divas Angeline, Klarisse, Regine, Zsa Zsa, and Kyla sang some stunning birit hits. One by one, we heard them deliver a showstopping performance of “Never My Love,” “Promise Me,” and “‘Til They Take My Heart Away.”

For this episode’s ASAP Discoveries, the awesome dance talent of Teach-tokers Joemari “Sir Tads” Tadeo and Kristine “Teacher Shas” Hinanay was featured. Their viral dancing along with the male ASAP dancing hotties took the spotlight as they grooved to “Mi Gente”.

We also witnessed fresh music from a fresh Kapamilya star. New Kapamilya Lovi Poe let us hear her precious voice singing her newest single “Candy” on the ASAP stage.

The afternoon party was perfectly capped off with a medley of original Pinoy music from the 80s in The Greatest Showdown. Global balladeer Jed Madela performed “Nakapagtataka,” who was followed by Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla who sang “Ang Pag-Ibig Kong Ito.” King of OPM Ogie Alcasid gave us his rendition of “Hindi Magbabago” while King of Theme Songs Erik Santos delivered his version of “Saan Darating Ang Umaga.” Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid closed the passionate segment singing “Kung Alam Mo Lang.”
