ASAP lang sakalam! The March 14 episode of ASAP Natin ‘To, titled as #ASAPsakalam, brought us the most powerful world-class performances we have seen yet. With its renowned singers, dancing royalties, and superstar guests, the longest-running variety show continued to prove to be the best place to spend your Sunday afternoon.
Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and pop star Iñigo Pascual set the mood for a festive party as they sang “Celebration”. Internationally famous dancer AC Bonifacio and hottie Jeremy Glinoga followed it up with alternating dance moves to the song “Something Big”.
As we got our groove on, Concert King Martin Nievera belted “Dancing on the Ceiling” along with the new breed of ASAP belters, Elha Nympha, Janine Berdin, and Sheena Belarmino. Singing idols ZsaZsa Padilla, Jed Madela, and Nyoy Volante continued the popping energy on stage with their performance of “Get on your Feet”.
Not wanting to put an end to the celebration, Erik Santos sang “Don’t Stop the Party” as Dancefloor Sweetheart Maymay Entrata and hataw heartthrobs Jameson Blake and Joao Constancia elevated the pace with some awesome moves.
OPM idol Ogie Alcasid with Birit Queens Angeline Quinto and Klarisse de Guzman continued the rave singing “Party All The Time''. Quickly after, multi-talented star Joshua Garcia and real-life sweethearts LoiNie (Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte) jived together to “Celebrate”.
Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano and popular singing sensation Darren Espanto jammed “Dancing in the Street” while ASAP’s Queen of the Dancefloor Kim Chiu and matching dance buddy Enchong Dee entered to lock in their iconic moves.
To start the show off as strong as they claim it to be, the King of Hearts Daniel Padilla serenaded us with his charming voice during his performance of Apo Hiking Society’s “Kumot At Unan”.
Our eyes were glued to the screen as the cast of Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin appeared on the ASAP stage before the impending finale of their fiery teleserye. Onscreen couple Kira Balinger and Grae Fernandez first brought us kilig as they duetted “Kahit Kailan”. This was soon followed by the stunning performance of stars Sam Milby, Joseph Marco, and Iza Calzado singing the serye theme song with Pinoy rock band Aegis.
ASAP’s resident dance royalties Kim and Maymay served us a level-up dance collab. Right after, Akira, Mikki, Nate, JL, and Gelo from P-Pop group BGYO surprised us with their exciting song and dance performance of “Kulay”.
More contenders of the Himig 11th Edition grace the ASAP stage with their song entries. Danielle Balagtas’ “Marupok” was performed by Asia’s Soul Supreme KZ Tandingan to express the message of acceptance and woman empowerment. A song of blissful escape from struggle entitled “Out” was composed by Erica Morales Sabalboro and performed on stage by rising artist FANA. Singer-songwriter and former bassist of IV of Spades Zild, on the other hand, sang previous Himig grand winner Dan Tañedo’s composition “Ibang Planeta”, which is about an out-of-this-world admiration for another person.
Queen of Hugot Songs Moira dela Torre and rock royalty Bamboo both warmed our hearts with the stripped down version of the deeply meaningful song, “Beautiful Scars”.
The chill vibes continued to flow through as, for the first time ever on the ASAP stage, Michael Pacquiao performed one of his original compositions with signature soulful beats. The Voice alums Darren Espanto and Kyle Echarri accompanied him in singing it.
Reviving the sentimental hit of Air Supply, Iñigo with the iconic divas Angeline, Klarisse, and Nina offered us a beautiful harmonization of “All Out of Love”.
Also reliving great music are ASAP’s veteran OPM icons. Alongside the piano accompaniment of legendary Maestro Louie Ocampo, Gary V, Martin, Ogie, Zsa Zsa, and Regine sang the maestro’s classic hugot hits.
Once again, ASAP delivers on their promise of featuring only the most amazing Pinoy talent. After years of serving world-class entertainment, they still never disappoint us and always emerge stronger than ever.
