ASAP Natin ‘To RocktoberASAP

The October 23 episode of ASAP Natin ‘To indeed made our Sunday afternoon extra scorching as our well-loved, talented homies once again offered us another concert-level experience that arguably made us sing and dance along while at the comforts of our homes.

Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Darren Espanto, and Robi Domingo commenced the episode by teasing us to the energetic performances that the ASAP Kapamilya had in store for us that afternoon, which indeed made us scream, jump, and bang our heads. Kicking off the opening production number was OPM rock icon Bamboo dropping the beats to Run-D.M.C.’s “Walk This Way” and Chie Filomeno teasing us with her sexy dance moves.

Asia’s Songbird Regine and KZ Tandingan belted out Journey’s “Separate Ways”, to which Krystal Brimner, Karina Bautista, and Charlie Dizon showed off their finesse grooves. Darren then emerged onstage alongside Erik Santos and rocked otut to “Paradise City” by Guns N’ Roses, which was followed by energetic dance break of Jin Macapagal, Jameson Blake, and Joao Constancia.

Anji Salvacion and Shanaia Gomez set aside their sweet girl sides for the meantime as they sang “I Love Rock ‘N Roll” by Joan Jett and The Blackhearts with Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla. The same went for AC Bonifacio who rocked the stage with her invigorating dance routine.

Crooners Nyoy Volante, Jason Dy, and Jed Madela unleashed the rockers in them as they rendered “Any Way You Want It” by Journey, to which Enchong Dee provided an impressive dance break. Meanwhile, Klarisse de Guzman, Sheena Belarmino, and Elha Nympha surely had us singing along to their version of “Sweet Child O’ Mine” by Guns N’ Roses, with Maymay Entrata flexing her sexy moves. Kyle Echarri and Jeremy Glinoga then swooned us with their rendition of Survivors’ “The Moment of Truth” with Ogie Alcasid, and were eventually joined by the whole ASAP fam as they returned to the stage.

After revealing the content of their work bags – cellphone, perfume, lip balm, facial wash, earphones, and extra clothes for KD Estrada; while guitar pick, water bottle, sunscreen, “Kice” bracelets, and toy insects for his pranks for Kice – the two “Rockoustic Heartthrobs” went on to serenade us with a mashup of Stevie Wonder hits “Isn’t She Lovely” and “You Are The Sunshine Of My Life”.

Veteran divas Regine and Zsa Zsa then performed a beautiful arrangement of the well-loved Gloria Estefan songs “Anything For You” “Can’t Stay Away From You” and “Cuts Both Ways” alongside Klarisse and Nina, who are both celebrating special milestones in their respective careers. Klarisse is about to have her first-ever major solo concert, while Nina is celebrating her birthday, her 20th anniversary in showbiz, and the fulfillment of her dream of performing alongside Danish rock band Michael Learns To Rock in their forthcoming Manila concert.

ACEs out there surely rejoiced as their beloved P-Pop boyband BGYO sang and danced to their latest track “Tumitigil Ang Mundo”, which was enough to make their Sunday complete.

Reel-and-real sweetheart Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte kept the kilig going as they performed his song “Hindi Bibitawan”, one of the OSTs of their teleserye Love In 40 Days, which is now already on its finale week. Afterwards, they had the chance to thank everyone who supported them from the very beginning, as well as to invite viewers to catch the exciting last episodes of their “Ang Pamatay Na Ending”.

Host Darren also didn’t forget to greet Ronnie as he celebrates his 25th birthday this coming October 26, and asked Loisa for her message to him. I love you. Happy birthday!”

He replied, “Thank you sa anim na taon na nagkakilala tayo, naging tayo, [na] nandiyan ka palagi sa birthday ko,” and went on to thank her, their ASAP family, Star Magic, his handler Nenette, and his manager RB Chanco.

And the “Rocktober” celebration went on as the awesome tandem of Ogie Alcasid and Ian Veneracion, fondly called “Kilabotitos”, brought not spook, but exhilaration, as they rocked out to Juan Dela Cruz Band’s all-time favorite hits “Beep Beep”, “Balong Malalim”, and “Laki Sa Layaw”. Those who are yearning to see more of their collaboration better come at their concert on October 28!

ASAP dancefloor hotties Chie, Maymay, and AC then set the stage ablaze with their scintillating performances in the Clash Dance segment. It was followed by Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano’s soulful take on Kenny Rankin’s “What Matters Most”.

For the closing salvo, our OPM icons and New Gen Birit Idols sang some of this generation’s soundtrack on love stories, breakups, and fights in life in “The Greatest Showdown”. Martin Nievera and Darren Espanto started off the segment with “Give Me Your Forever” by Zack Tabudlo, which was succeeded by Zsa Zsa Padilla and Sheena Belarmino powerful duet of “Wala Na Talaga” by Klarisse de Guzman. Ogie Alcasid and JM Yusores lulled us with “Ikaw Lang” by Nobita, while KZ Tandingan and Khimo Gumatay pierced our hearts with “Pa’no” by Zack Tabudlo. Erik Santos and Sam Mangubat rendered “At Ang Hirap” by Angeline Quinto, while the Queen of Teleserye Theme Songs and Regine Velasquezd belted out their rendition of “Amakabogera” by Maymay Entrata.
