There’s definitely no doubt that our favorite Kapamilya love teams thrill and fascinate us with their teleserye and movie portrayals together through the years. And the same goes in their appearances together in the long-running weekly musical variety program ASAP Natin ‘To, wherein they didn’t only make us kilig with their unmistakable chemistry, but with their astounding skills in singing in dancing as well.
As our days are getting colder and colder recently, let these talented tandems warm your hearts and make the butterflies in your stomachs flutter with some of their ASAP performances that we collated in this Kapamilya Spotlight video!
Ever since their ship started sailing in 2011, KathNiel has never failed to make us fall in love with their loveteam. And from simply wanting to grow old with one another that they seem to subtly express in their duet of Adam Sandler’s “Grow Old With You” in 2013, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla are now treading the journey towards forever as they vow to be at each other’s side through their performance last July of the classic OPM hit “Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko”, which was also the official soundtrack of their top-grossing 2018 flick “The House Of Us.”
From firing up the dancefloor one wild summer of 2017 through their energetic take on the Mobe dance challenge, Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil went on to elate their fans with how they whimsically promoted their romance drama Make It With You early this year. As OPM band Ben&Ben touched our hearts with their live performance of its theme song “Make It With You” by Bread, LizQuen mesmerized us with their sweet, slow dance.
It apparently feels like Valentine’s Day every time KimXi is around, just like in two of their appearances on ASAP. In 2013, they both exhibited their skills in playing the guitar during their acoustic duet of Jireh Lim’s hit song “Magkabilang Mundo”, wherein Xian Lim teased the audiences by sharing the microphone with Kim Chiu. Three years later, they thrilled us with their duet of “Kailangan Kita”, which was the OST of their 2016 primetime series The Story Of Us.
Meanwhile, LoiNie gave us fairytale vibes with their ASAP production numbers years ago. First was when Loisa Andalio had a mermaid-inspired ensemble and Ronnie Alonte looked dashing in his crisp white beach outfit, which reminded us of “The Little Mermaid” as they danced to Tiffany’s “Radio Romance”, and when they reminded as of “Aladdin” in their shimmering costumes as they bopped to Ed Sheeran’s “Shape Of You”.
Even though they’re just new in the industry, the phenomenal MayWard tandem have already conquered the hearts of The Filipino Channel subscribers as they made everyone smile with their duet of “Baliw” during ASAP’s show in San Francisco Bay Area last year. And early this 2020, Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber made the Month of Love extra kilig with their energetic performance of the 1979 disco hit “Kiss Kiss”.
Last, but definitely not the least, was The Gold Squad comprised of the KyCine and SethDrea loveteams who have amused and enthralled us already with their production numbers on the variety show. Who would forget their awesome take trending on the Catriona Dance Challenge while in their matching slick pink outfits and when they revived the ASAP hit dance crazes “Dulce Tira Tira” and “Mobe”, as well as performed the “Halo-Halo” dance they popularized during their stint on ASAP Bay Area tour?
