ASAP Natin 'To's #iheartASAP performances win viewers' hearts, trend online

The September 12 episode of ASAP Natin ‘To not just filled our Sunday with amazing musical performances and delightful guests, but also with humor as it commenced in a truly lighthearted and groovy extravaganza featuring Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and variety show’s talented artists.

Belting out a few of our favorite ballads from decades ago, audiences were arguably befuddled as Regine’s mellifluous performances were repeatedly interrupted, as if there was something wrong with the flow of the program.

As she sang Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On,” Angeline Quinto and Elha Nympha chimed in to sing its upbeat version, while reel-and-real-life sweethearts Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte danced to it. Lara Maigue, Nina, Maris Racal, and AC Bonifacio did the while Regine was already giving her all in her rendition of Mariah Carey’s “My All”.

Robi Domingo and Sam Concepcion didn’t give her a chance to sing at least a tune as they immediately stepped on the stage and danced to the disco version of LeAnn Rimes “How Do I Live”, which was later on sang by Jed Madela and Erik Santos.

Just as Regine was already feeling Brian McKnight’s “One Last Cry,” her beloved husband and the iDolls – comprised by Lucas Garcia, Matty Juniosa, and Enzo Almario – also interrupted her as they made us groove with its upbeat version, to which Edward Barber and Joao Constancia danced to.

She once again attempted to take on the spotlight by belting out Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing”, but Maris, Loisa, and AC didn’t let her to do so as they went back to stage and bust their moves to its cheery version, later on sang by Janine Berdin and Sheena Belarmino. Pinoy pop phenoms BINI and Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla also participated in the party by performing “I Will Always Love You”. Everyone then joined forces on stage to sing it in unison to cap off the unique and totally entertaining opening number.

Prior to their pilot episode on Monday, September 13, the stars of newest Kapamilya teleserye Marry Me, Marry You -- led by Paulo Avelino, Janine Gutierrez, Jake Ejercito, Vina Morales, Cherry Pie Picache, Teresa Loyzaga, Lito Pimentel, and Jett Pangan -- graced the variety show in their posh wedding attires.

Sparks continue to fly on the ASAP Natin ‘To as, after their much talked about appearance together on the same stage last week, they once again made us kilig with their performance of their first-ever collaboration, “Abot Langit”. They further electrified us in their interview with Regine and Ogie, especially when Rico delivered his birthday message for Maris and they proudly held hands! What a wonderful ‘co-love,’ right?

It was succeeded by BINI’s spectacular performance of their latest single “Kapit Lang,” and New Gen Diva’s vocal showdown featuring some of our favorite OPM breakup songs. Janine Berdin broke a lot of hearts with her take on the Jessa Zaragoza hit “Siya Ba Ang Dahilan”, while Sheena Belarmino did it by singing Aegis’ “Bakit”.  Lara Maigue covered Aiza Seguerra’s “Ano’ng Nangyari Sa Ating Dalawa”, while Elha Nympha made us shed a tear with Sarah Geronimo’s “Sino Nga Ba Siya”.

From having our hearts broken, we found ourselves dancing along to some of the trending Tiktok dance challenges as “dancing grannies” Lola Doren Relacion and Lolo Dennis Hong surprisingly conquered the ASAP stage alongside Ogie, Ronnie, Joao, Robi, and Edward in the “ASAP Discoveries” segment. What a great way to celebrate Grandparents Day, indeed!

We’re also able to witness the world-class collab of Asia’s Phoenix Morissette with The Voice UK runner-up and international hitmaker Jamie Miller as they performed a duet of his popular track “Here’s Your Perfect”.

The episode was capped off by OPM icons Ogie, Zsa Zsa, Angeline, and Erik by singing some of our all-time favorite 80’s OPM hits in “The Greatest Showdown.”
