It’s the time of the year again when our social media feeds are bombarded with photos of people dressed up in either cute or creepy costumes as they attempt to embody fictional characters or real personalities. And among them are our favorite celebrities, who really upped their game as they got super creative for Halloween 2023.
See how our favorite stars fully embraced the spooky spirit by going all-out in their costumes for this year’s version of the annual occasion in this Kapamilya Snaps feature!
Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano
From spreading kilig vibes every weeknight as Bingo and Caroline in the well-loved series Can’t Buy Me Love, Donny and Belle went on to thrill us when they transformed into iconic Filipino superheroes Captain Barbell and Darna, as well as treating us with tons of adorable pics of them together. That only proves that DonBelle is one of the power couples of their generation.
Andrea Brillantes
Apart from being hailed the “New Gen Queen,” Andrea has also established herself as the Queen of Halloween after she didn’t pull off not just one, but three looks!
The first look she unveiled was Regina George, the popular character played by Rachel McAdams in the 2004 teen comedy film “Mean Girls.” In order to achieve it, she did it with her besties Bea Borres, Criza Taa, and Danica Ongtengco, who dressed up as Karen, Cady, and Gretchen, respectively.
For her second, the Senior High lead star totally spooked us when she showed up in the “Shake, Rattle, and Ball” Halloween shindig that she co-hosted with host and eventologist Tim Yap as Amalia, a half-engkanto and half-manananggal creature. Aside from making heads turn with her provocative look, she also brought an alive Albino Burmese Python when she attended the “The Opulence Ball”.
And the third character Andrea portrayed was Lilith, who is believed to be the first wife of Adam and the mother of demons.
Anne Curtis
Fifteen years since she officially earned the moniker “Dyosa” of television after she was chosen to take on the titular character of the ABS-CBN fantaserye with the same title, Anne once again mesmerized as a “Goddess” when she partook in the “The Opulence Ball.”
The It’s Showtime host really looked deific in her sultry wet look, wearing a revealing white dress and gold ring headpiece.
Vice Ganda
Just like her “sisterette” and co-host Anne, the Unkabogable Star was also present at the said annual Halloween party. And Vice truly nailed being Psyche, the Greek goddess of soul, as she put on a white voluminous long-sleeved dress and a headdress swarmed with black butterflies and white feathers.
Maris Racal
While her Can’t Buy Me Love character Irene probably gets into the nerves of viewers, Maris surely brought good vibes to her followers on Instagram with her impression of American singer and actress Selena Gomez in her “Hands to Myself” music video. Since she already got full bangs like her, all she had to do was wear a pair of black undies, a white button-down shirt, and a long black unbuttoned dress, and literally project as if she’s the one in the music video.
Kyle Echarri
Meanwhile, Kyle dressed up as pop superstar Justin Bieber, in what he believed was the latter’s best era. The Senior High star was cladded in a white and purple ensemble that’s reminiscent of the Canadian singer’s look during his “Never Say Never” days.
Darren Espanto
Darren was among the dashing local actors who stole our hearts in their depiction of Roronoa Zoro, one of the popular characters from the adventure series “One Piece,” which is currently portrayed by Japanese actor Mackenyu Arata for its 2023 live-action series. And we can all agree that Darren really did a great job here!
Kaila Estrada
In the few years that she’s been in showbiz, Kaila has already proven her caliber as an actress. And in this year’s Halloween, Kaila astonished fans anew with her modern and glamorous take on Greek mythology’s Medusa when she graced the “The Opulence Ball.” She was dressed in a mini asymmetrical gold frock and wavy blonde locks that made her shine so bright.
Chie Filomeno
Chie also transformed into the famous Gorgon of ancient Greek myth when she attended the same event. Her version portrayed Medusa as a beautiful goddess rather than a dreaded monster. She was cladded in a sultry black cutout dress that she paired with gold headdress and neckpiece that bore snake designs. For her photoshoot, the Kapamilya actress brought a real python.
AC Bonifacio
For this year’s Halloween, AC got us reminiscing about our childhood as she dressed up as Jessie, the adventurous cowgirl from the well-loved film series Toy Story. She totally nailed the look from the red cowgirl hat down to the cowboy boots. And the pigtails, of course!
Barbie Imperial
She may not have a Romeo right now, but that didn’t hinder Barbie from portraying Juliet from the romantic crime film “Romeo + Juliet”. She appeared really immaculate in the white ensemble and white feather wings that she put on when she attended the “The Opulence Ball”.
Jayda Avanzado
Another celebrity to take us back to our childhood was Jayda, who portrayed Rosalinda from the popular Mexican TV show of the same title, which was also broadcast by ABS-CBN here in the Philippines in 1999. She wore a halter red dress that she matched with her long wavy locks and the character’s signature red rose on her left ear.
Angeline Quinto
The Queen of Teleserye Theme Songs has been in the United States for weeks now for both work and vacation. And since they’re already there, she and her fiancé Nonrev Daquina took their unico hijo Sylvio trick-or-treating for the first time. They roamed around in vegetable costumes, with Angeline as a carrot, Nonrev as an eggplant, and Sylvio as a broccoli.
Bianca Gonzalez
Playing dress up during Halloween has been an annual tradition for the Gonzalez-Intal family. And this year, Bianca, along with her husband JC and daughters Lucia and Carmen endeared us as the adorable characters from “The Berenstain Bears”, which the Pinoy Big Brother host revealed as one of their family’s favorite book series.
Kim Molina
And last, but definitely not the least, is Kim, who teamed up with her boyfriend Jerald Napoles as they played Wednesday Addams and Thing. True to her claim that she has a “supportive boyfie,” Jerald amused us when he really made an effort to wear a green suit in order to pull off his character.
The funny pair went on to make us droll with another couple costume as “Two Piece” chicken. Both of them put on chicken drumstick plushies as headpieces, with Jerald channeling the Monkey D. Luffy in him of the hit series “One Piece”.
Which of the Halloween 2023 costumes stood out the most for you, Kapamilya?
