When Kathryn Bernardo played Malia in La Luna Sangre, she had to look like a man to fulfill a prophecy in her mission to defeat the vampire king Sandrino (Richard Gutierrez). This meant Kathryn had to don a boyish haircut.

In Make It With You, Liza Soberano played a Filipina con artist in Croatia named Billy, who was also a hardworking OFW lovingly supporting her beloved family back home. In her appearances in Croatia, she had curly brown hair and had to wear various wigs.

Andrea Brillantes (Huwag Kang Mangamba)

In her first antagonist role, Jane made her hair incredibly short to introduce a fiercer, more mature version of herself.

Erich Gonzales (The Blood Sisters)

Considered one of her most remarkable portrayals, Erich Gonzales actually played three characters on The Blood Sisters – triplets separated at birth and would later reunite. Jodi Sta. Maria (Sana Dalawa Ang Puso)

A first for premiere actress Jodi Sta. Maria, playing the twins Mona and Lisa in Sana Dalawa Ang Puso needed two totally different characterizations. And portraying each needed different looks, and as such Jodi looked boyish as Mona, yet looked glamorous with different hairstyles as Lisa.

Julia Montes (Doble Kara)

Also playing a dual role, Julia Montes portrayed the twins Kara and Sara in Doble Kara and wore different hairdos such as short hair with highlights, long hair, and even a pixie cut to depict the sisters’ ups and downs together, but would eventually end up with an unbreakable bond.

Kim Chiu (My Binondo Girl)

As Jade in My Binondo Girl, Kim Chiu was disregarded by her family. But by being a strong-willed woman, she would do anything to get the respect that she deserves. In trying to rejoin her family, Jade pretended to be her brother, and thus had to don a boyish cut.
