Kapamilya Snaps: Stars who can speak foreign languages

Whether you are biracial or just appreciate another country’s culture, learning a new language is always an impressive skill. And some of our favorite Kapamilya stars do speak foreign tongues, out of their multi-cultural ancestry and upbringing, aside from getting well-versed by learning them. In this edition of Kapamilya Snaps, let us meet these Kapamilya stars who are quite well-versed not only in the native Filipino tongue but also in second or multiple languages.

First on the list is Matteo Guidicelli. The former kart racer was born in Cebu and can speak Bisaya and Tagalog, but did you know that he speaks fluent Italian? Obviously from his last name, Matteo’s father is from Italy and they always converse in Italian.

Next, we have Edward Barber. The Filipino-British actor came to prominence in 2016 after placing fourth in the reality television series Pinoy Big Brother. The young actor can speak German! Edward was born in Germany where most of his childhood memories were made, that’s why he knows how to speak one of the toughest languages to learn.

Anne Curtis can speak French. While she is not fluent speaking the language, she knows some French phrases to communicate and show her admiration to her French husband, Erwan Heussaff. Currently, the couple resides in Australia where Anne gave birth to Dahlia Amelie.

As for Sarah Lahbati, did you know that she can fluently speak French? Sarah’s father is a Moroccan where one of the languages spoken is French.

Actor and model Rafael Rosell grew up speaking Norwegian. Born in Norway by Filipino parents, Rafael is fluent speaking the language. The actor’s first taste of show business was when he starred in a toothpaste commercial.

Arci Munoz is taking her fascination with K-Pop on a different level. Not only does she enjoy listening to Korean music, her enthusiasm for Korean culture is growing day by day to the point where she’s immersing herself to learn Korean.

Speaking of K-Pop, did you know that Charlie Dizon passed an audition to become a K-Pop trainee for a South Korean entertainment company? She is even friends with Nancy McDonie from the girl group Momoland. Charlie knows how to speak Korean after spending a part of her life in South Korea to achieve her dreams of becoming a K-Idol. Charlie Dizon topbills an Antionette Jadaone film “Fan Girl” currently showing in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.

The Kawaii Daughter of Japan, Kaori Oinuma, knows how to speak Japanese. The PBB housemate was born in Japan by a Japanese father and a Filipino Mother. The young actress moved to the Philippines, but then moved back to Japan when she was 13 years old.

Another ex-PBB housemate that can speak another language is Daniel Matsunaga. The PBB All in season winner is fluent in Portuguese and is of Japanese Brazilian descent. He is proud to be Filipino by heart and can also be heard speaking Tagalog occasionally.

Last but definitely not the least on our list is Kim Chiu. The Chinita Princess is of Chinese descent and is fluent speaking Chinese. She won the first teen edition of PBB and garnered acclaim at a young age.
