Wedding is an important milestone that usually happens once in a person’s life. Thus, couples make sure that theirs are going to be beautiful, memorable, perfect, and, of course, romantic.
While some opt to exchange “I dos” at local locations that are accessible to most of their families and friends, there are others who choose to take the risk of having far-flung nuptials at international destinations, wherein the newlyweds and their guests can have their much-needed vacations at the same time – just like the nine celebrities we feature in this edition of Kapamilya Snaps.
Maja Salvador
Five years after rekindling their impeded romance around a decade ago, the couple finally sealed their promise of forever last July 31 at a five-star resort in Bali, Indonesia. It was indeed star-studded, as some of their friends from showbiz attended the affair and were part of the entourage, like Kathryn Bernardo, Janella Salvador, Kakai Bautista, Maine Mendoza, Pooh, Thou Reyes, Daniel Padilla, Gelli de Belen, Ariel Rivera, and ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo L. Katigbak.
Unbeknownst to us, Maja and her entrepreneur-husband Rambo Nuñez already got hitched in a secret civil ceremony officiated by Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano last February.
Those who were able to follow their love story would know that the The Iron Heart actress briefly dated Rambo when she was just 21, which only lasted for four months. The universe then allowed their paths to cross again in 2018 and the rest, as they say, is history.
Pia Wurtzbach
She may be one of the most popular personalities in the world, err, the universe rather, but Pia chose to keep her nuptials with her husband, travel entrepreneur Jeremy Jauncey last March 2023 low-key. The public only found it about two months later when they shared a few pics taken from their private beach wedding held at North Island, Seychelles on Instagram.
“We did things differently, just for us, away from stress so we could relax and be present for the moment,” Jeremy wrote in the caption of his post.
The globetrotter pair made their relationship public in June 2020 and has since delighted us with their snaps and clips together as they travel to different parts of the world. They eventually got engaged in May 2022 during their trip in Amanpulo, Palawan.
Vice Ganda
October is indeed a special month for Vice, as it is when she celebrates a few important occasions in her life. Aside from being the birth month of her cherished Nanay Rosario, it is also when she and spouse Ion Perez celebrate the milestones in their relationship.
It was in October 2021 when they exchanged vows at the famous The Little Vegas Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada, which happened in the midst of her concert tour in the United States. They only shared the great news to the madlang people in February 2022 through a video uploaded on Vice’s YouTube channel.
The “unkabogable” couple confirmed their romantic affair in October 2019, just in time for their first anniversary and the 10th anniversary of It’s Showtime. Ion popped the question through an intimate proposal at their home, surrounded by some loved ones, in February 2020.
Anne Curtis
After around seven years of being together, Anne and her husband Erwan Heussaff tied the knot in November 2017 through a rustic outdoor wedding that took place in Queenstown, New Zealand. It was attended by some of Anne’s showbiz friends, including her It’s Showtime family.
As we all know, the Multimedia Superstar has been friends with his sister, Solenn, as both of them are part of the elite celebrity circle called “It Girls.” Erwan used to join them in some of their trips and shenanigans, which made them closer to each other. They eventually became in a relationship and dated for six years before getting engaged in December 2016.
Now, they are happy, hands-on parents to their daughter Dahlia Amelie.
Vhong Navarro
Their relationship might have gone through a lot of challenges in the entire decade of dating, but those weren’t enough to destroy the strong devotion Vhong and her wife, ABS-CBN screenwriter Tanya Bautista, have for one another.
The couple had their intimate and dreamy nuptials in Kyoto, Japan in November, with her beloved It’s Showtime fam and their respective partners in attendance.
Prior to finally exchanging vows, the couple dated for 11 years after working together in the 2008 Star Cinema flick “My Only U,” which he topbilled and she co-wrote.
Yam Concepcion
While not all people believe in long-distance relationship, Yam and her longtime non-showbiz partner Miguel CuUnjieng are proof that it is indeed possible. After six years of enduring that set-up, they decided to be finally together for good by getting in July 2021 aboard a boat in New York City, USA.
The Init Sa Magdamag actress revealed a month before their wedding that they got engaged on December 31, 2018, a minute before the calendar flipped to 2019. She gave her “a thousand cranes yes” when bent on one knee during their winter trip to Niseko, Japan.
Desiree del Valle
From being co-stars in a project, Desiree and Boom Labrusca eventually fell in love and became a couple. And after three years of dating, he didn’t only propose to her once, but twice. He first popped the question in July 2015, then did it again in 2016 as their way of honoring their respective mothers.
They exchanged vows in January 2018 through an outdoor wedding ceremony in South Lake Tahoe City, California, USA. The two have been married for five years now and are proud, doting parents to their unico hijo Alexander Sebastian, who’s turning 2 this year.
Bianca King
Since the pandemic was still raging then, Bianca and her non-showbiz husband Ralph Wintle had a “living room” wedding at their home in Sydney, Australia in June 2021.
The Pusong Ligaw star met her husband at the nuptials of her bestie Iza Calzado and Ralph’s brother Ben in 2019, and apparently hit it off immediately. After three years of being together, Bianca and Ralph are blessed with an adorable child, who they welcomed on March 29, 2023.
Melissa Ricks
Her previous relationship might have broken her heart, but Melissa finally found her happily ever after in her non-showbiz spouse Michael Macatangay. They tied the knot in an intimate ceremony held in May 2021 in Los Angeles, USA.
It was in 2019 when she first introduced him to her followers on Instagram. They got engaged in August 2020 after Michael proposed to her in Batangas. The couple welcomed their first child together last January, who they named Mikaela. Meanwhile, Melissa’s first daughter Kiera Kelly also turned eight that month.
