Typically, this is the time of the year when we’re given the opportunity to reflect as we commemorate the life and passion of Jesus Christ by engaging in various religious activities and to reunite with our families, relatives, and friends to whom we haven’t seen nor bonded with for a long time.
While these are how ordinary Filipinos usually observe this sacred holiday, showbiz celebrities maximize this time by travelling here and abroad while reflecting and meditating. A few weeks ago, we’re able to corner some of our beloved Kapamilya celebrities to ask them about their fondest childhood memories and traditions every Holy Week. Get to know their responses by clicking on this video.
As they experienced mishaps and other unpleasant things in going out during this time, Kapamilya young heartthrobs McCoy de Leon, Seth Fedelin, and JC Alcantara since then opted to just stay at home with their loved ones. Pinoy Big Brother Otso alumni Argel Saycon and Kiara Takahashi usually spend Holy Week together with their families.
Magandang Buhay momshies Melai Cantiveros and Karla Estrada reminisced participating in their hometown’s religious activities with their kin and friends in their younger years. The same with PBB Otso alumnus Sky Quizon and thespians Nico Antonio, Roxanne Barcelo and Vivoree Esclito who each recalled watching Senakulo, or the play depicting the life, sufferings and death of Jesus Christ based on events from the Bible, and/or doing Stations of the Cross and Visita Iglesia.
Meanwhile, for The Gold Squad member Andrea Brillantes and FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano star Yassi Pressman, Semana Santa is a chance for them to explore different places and gain new experiences as they usually go on trips during this long break.
How about you, Kapamilya? What’s your most precious memory of the Holy Week?
