Indeed, 2020 has been one of the most challenging years for most of us. However, the adversities failed to stop us from standing up and finding joy amidst all the setbacks we have faced as we still mustered to wear a smile onto our faces.
The same goes for the teleseryes we’ve seen this year, whose characters were still able to find something to celebrate about despite the difficulties they were going through, such as being able to find love and fight for it.
So, as we bid farewell to 2020, let’s take a look back on some of the most kilig scenes from your favorite Kapamilya teleseryes that truly set the butterflies in our stomachs and make us wish for the same to happen to us, as well.
FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano
FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano is definitely not all about the ‘buwis-buhay’ stunts and intense fighting scenes between Cardo Dalisay (Coco Martin) and his enemies, but it also shows what genuine love is through his relationship with his wife Alyana (Yassi Pressman). Both of them have proven how much love they have for each other despite of all the trials they face as a couple.
The Killer Bride
The Killer Bride paved the way for the fans to see the unmistakable chemistry between young Kapamilya stars Joshua Garcia and Janella Salvador. Their characters Elias and Emma may have encountered a lot of problems and found it hard at first to build a romantic affair, but their love for each other still prevailed in the end. She was truly grateful for all the times that he had saved her, especially when she needed him the most. Well, Elias promised her that he will never get tired of saving her. Sana all, right?
The tandem of Maris Racal and JC De Vera was a surprise fan favorite. The story of Peachy and Nathan on Pamilya Ko may be controversial considering their status – she’s a student, while he’s her professor – but they still managed to gain massive support from the viewers.
As we all know, before their relationship prospered to a romantic one, Peachy tried her best to suppress her growing feelings for Nathan but failed as she couldn’t help but confess her real feelings towards him.
The tandem of Aljur Abrenica and Elisse Joson as Leo and Grace in the 2019 drama series Sandugo was also a fresh sight for the Kapamilya audiences. Even though she fell for her best friend JC (Ejay Falcon) at first, who had laid his eyes on another woman, Melissa (Jessy Mendiola), she eventually realized how Leo values and adores her. That is why, in the end, Grace was able to appreciate all the efforts and love that she’s been getting from Leo, and reciprocate those as well in the end.
Make It With You
Serving as the teleserye comeback for love team and true-to-life partners Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil, they indeed didn’t disappoint us with their overflowing chemistry as Billy and Gabo. Their love story in Make It With You started off in the rustic and picturesque Dubrovnik, Croatia, which made it extra romantic. Every scene of them together – from their first encounter wherein Billy mistook him for her date up to their first ever kiss – really stole the hearts of the fans.
A Soldier’s Heart
The pair-up between Sue Ramirez and Gerald Anderson in A Soldier’s Heartt was also something refreshing. Their characters as Lourd and Alex prove that destiny makes the way for soulmates to fall in love with each other, even in the most unexpected time.
When Alex entered the military, love wasn’t actually part of his plans. And the same goes for Lourd who promised herself that she’d never catch feelings again with another soldier. But in the end, their feelings for each other still came out stronger than them!
Ang Sa Iyo ay Akin
A new ship has indeed sailed as new on-screen pair Kira Balinger and Grae Fernande came into the picture of the hit series Ang Sa Iyo ay Akin. Just when we thought that the kilig they bring would continue, the present situation of their characters Hope and Jake has become complicated as they were introduced as half-siblings in pursuit of the success of Marissa’s (Jodi Sta. Maria) plan of exacting revenge against her best friend-turned-rival Ellice (Iza Calzado).
Just like us, Kira shared in a virtual media conference that she herself feels kilig every time she has scenes with her love team partner Grae, most especially when he looks straight at her.
Tisay (Heaven Peralejo) and Ely (Tony Labrusca) definitely caught our hearts with their unspeakable chemistry and their beautiful love story, which is quite unique since they started out from being enemies until they became friends, and eventually lovers. Just in the beginning of their connection, they already brought out kilig feels as they used to fight a lot about Cai (Barbie Imperial), Ely’s best friend whom Tisay was actually jealous of.
Just like these on-screen couples, may you also finally find love and happiness you have been yearning for and truly deserve in 2021!
