With just a few days away to 2021, we are all left with tons of real-life heartbreaking scenes. Today, we take a stroll down memory lane as we recognize the top ten tear-jerking scenes from our favorite teleserye. Kapamilya, this is your cue to go get that tissue.
The first on our list — Kadenang Ginto’s Romina (Beauty Gonzalez) breaks down in front of her daughter, Cassie (Francine Diaz), after learning that the guy she just married and her rapist are one and the same. One can only imagine the troublesome memories flushing through Romina’s mind as she realizes that she is now married to the person who caused her trauma. Yikes!
The Killer Bride is no stranger to heartbreaking scenes. When Camila (Maja Salvador) finally realizes that her long lost daughter Vida (Janella Salvador) was alive all this time, she instantly felt regret and shame over her years of plotting revenge. In this scene, we see a mother who could not even begin to hug her daughter out of disbelief that her Vida was standing right in front of her.
Betrayal will always strike a chord in our hearts — even more so when you have seasoned actors such as Joey Marquez and Sylvia Sanchez sharing the screen. Our next featured scene from Pamilya Ko shows a disappointed and angry Luz (Sanchez) who has learned about Fernan’s (Marquez) four-year infidelity while they were apart, pointing out that she missed him the whole time that they were apart but remained true to him all the same.
In Sandugo, our pick goes to that scene when a mother begs for his son’s forgiveness. A shaking Joan (Cherry Pie Picache) desperately begs for Aries’ (Aljur Abrenica) forgiveness but instead of a reconciliation, we are reminded of Joan’s past mistakes and the consequences that her son had to face all those years. If you’re not ready to brave the entire scene, Aries’ final statement in the end says it all.
No one is too old or too young to not be left in tears with a scene from Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo. In Starla, Atty. Teresa (Santos-Agoncilo) speaks to Buboy (Enzo Pelojero) about how far down she has taken on the path of darkness just to do her job. As a result, she is left to make apologies to a number of people. Despite the complexity of Atty. Teresa’s confession, she is able to relay these in simple terms for Buboy to understand and feel her pain and sincerity.
Make it With You features a confrontation between Gabo (Enrique Gil) and Billy (Liza Soberano) where he claims that whatever it was that they shared in Croatia, they were just “having fun,” implying that it meant nothing to him. As he went on to say just how big a man he is (being a Villarica and all), a heartbroken Billy holds back her tears… until she couldn’t anymore.
An inconsolable Yazmin (Irma Adlawan) weeps for his son as she recalls all of the pain she has suffered under the hands of Brig. Gen. Dante Marasigan (Rommel Padilla) in A Soldier’s Heart. For Yazmin, losing her son to the soldier was the final straw which even pushed Fatima (Nikki Valdez) to swear revenge onto the soldiers for what they have done to them.
It’s difficult to accept the truth that you have been lied to, especially when it’s a family matter. An unforgiving Dana (Yam Concepcion) in Love Thy Woman is furious to learn about the truth — that her own family lied to her. Even as they try to console her to say that it was done for her own good, we see Dana screaming at everyone in the room. Even as her sister Jia (Kim Chiu) gives her apology, Dana was still left in her mental state of shock.
Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin toys with our feelings as Marissa (Jodi Sta. Maria) visits the place where she had to bury her own son. The scene includes a flashback to the day Marissa barely made it alive as she was gunned down, desperate to protect her child.
Celine (Angelica Panganiban) and Emman (Paulo Avelino) find the dead body of their son in the morgue in this scene from Walang Hanggang Paalam. This scene becomes especially painful after realizing that Emman arrived at the morgue first and had to tell his wife about the terrible news. All the audience were left with were flashbacks of Robbie (Robbie Wachtel) with his mom and dad.
While these scenes brought us to tears, it’s important that we look to the future just as our favorite characters did after they each went through these painful phases, as we’ve witnessed in this year-ender Paandar 2020 compilation.
